To be expected from the West Coast especially with their college football. JMO>

If they cared about the players, there wouldn't be any Thursday night football.
The players knew what they were signing for when they signed
    On the dotted line.

I guess taking out a knee or a compound fracture would be more acceptable. Otherwise, two hand touch below the waist? What was he supposed to do, nothing and let it be a completion? I am as confused as anyone especially when in one game there is a flag but not in another. Good thing this hasn't caught on in boxing. JMO>

Agree. However, is there any data that shows TNF games incur more injuries than regular Sunday games? I assume they play the game the same but does a shorter rest period between games causes more injures? Just wondering if anyone on the TSF medical staff may have heard or read something. JMO>

If you go low, it is a slippery slope.

That reminds me of a play by our safety Gary Jones hitting a receiver going down the sideline, closest to Bud's hit on Moore for violence.

In real time, it looked like brutal hit. I can understand why the refs called it. I can’t understand why they didn’t call helmet-to-helmet when Najee got hit. In college football, it would have qualified for a targeting ejection

I watched that live and thought he killed Beebe! Much respect though for completing the catch. :ACK!:

You have a 50-50 chance of knocking the ball out.

You have a 50-50 chance of getting Flagged.

So that’s a whole 100% of something that you have to do.

    Hit him. Always.

One of the rare times Collinsworth didn't tow the line for the league and said he didn't see anything that rose to the level of an ejection.

This is the type of call most fans are completely hypocritical about. If it's against you, you hate it. For you and it's all good. I knew the second he hit him it would get called. I would also want it called if the roles were reversed. That's the way the game is officiated now. Most of us don't like the rule but it's not going away, that's for sure.

Highsmith is way better. Bud sucked until his contract year.

Should be reviewable by the refs or challengeable by the HC. Too many players are having difficulty figuring out how to play the game legally these days.

I can get on board with that but the main pushback will be the time it potentially adds to the game, which may not be all that significant. The league puts the refs in an impossible position sometimes because in real time, that hit looks like a penalty nearly every time. The force of that hit jolted his head in a way that it appeared it was a hit to the head, even though it wasn't.

Then they ran the same play and got a td because it looked like the db hesitated.

Nope, not me. If the exact same hit was against one of the Steelers receivers, I would have no problem with a flag not being called on a shoulder to shoulder hit. Just like the DPI in the end zone that gave us first and goal at the one. That was a terrible call against the Saint DB, a bad call is a bad call no matter who it is against.

Bad call or bad rule? In real time the Kazee hit looked like there was contact to the head, or at least the referee decided there was. Replay showed there wasn't. Only two options are to change the rule, which isn't going to happen, or add replay which is also unlikely.
Don't get me wrong though, I don't like the way the rule is applied for the most part. I like the hits. I want my football to have more hits like that. It's just not going to happen.

I agree on both points!!! That DPI in the endzone was BS. The WR ran right into the defender and I said it to my son right away that was a bs call. We got a TD out of that which we might not otherwise had without that new set of downs!!
