I have to admit that after watching Wednesday night and all of the games I've seen today, the replacement refs are doing much better than I expected. So much so that I haven't really even noticed them, which I think is a good thing, and I haven't heard much about them from commentators, either.

I saw a woman ref today. Not sure why I never thought about this being odd in 2012 (the 3rd millennium!) until I saw it, but I was taken-a-back....

With the exception of picking up a flag and completly missing the block in the back on the Packers you mean. But yes they seem to let them play a little more.

I haven't noticed them at all. Calls will always be missed, but they don't seem to miss any more calls than the normal refs.

I wish they would have been there at the playoff game last year they would have called the illegal formation

Ok, the blatant missed face mask on Ben has made me notice the replacement refs now. Not that the regular refs would have called it, either, though.

How about the blatant missed holding call on the donkeys TD. 65 had all kinds of Mundy's jersey.

The refs did not kill us. We did that on our own. They are the refs we have so learn to live with it.

Yeah, there were definitely some bad non-calls, but we can't blame the refs for that loss. The D just didn't bring it at all tonight.

The Pass Interferance call was the worst call I've seen in over 40 years.

I hate to bicker but if every time a player calls for a flag and they get one then this game will be lopsided to the complaning player/coach.

This is EXACTLY what I was gonna post! I was screaming at the tv so loud down here in TN that I think they might've actually heard me!

Other than the random head-scratchers, I love the replacement refs. They take their sweet time discussing EVERY call, but it seems as if they let the guys play the game a little bit more than the regular refs. I think that sentiment will wane as the season wears on though, as they become more comfortable with the speed of the game and the heavy hand of Goodell carries more influence.

Goodell has his mobster goons putting some serious pressure on them. I bet that ref that got sidelined from the Saints game today will probably get a dead fish in the mail or something. LOL.

BTW, what is the beef from the regular refs? Is it about money?

Regardless, we love to hate the refs. So whether it is the regulars or the scabs, we are going to biatch about the calls. Even if a ref makes the right call, someone somewhere is going to cry foul that a travesty was just committed against their team, humanity, and God Amighty Himself by that blankety-blank ref. It truly is a no-win situation for officials.

It's always about the money! They would like to eat Steak and Lobster while Gooddell sends them some White Castle coupons. I told the wife that I've been watching football games for over 40 years and these calls have been the worst I've ever seen. How many times was Santonio Holmes going to beg and get a flag thrown?
