With the conclusion of this years draft, we as Steeler fans have to be
somewhat excited about how our team drafted and the possibilities.
I think the Steelers addressed alot of concerns we fans had with the team
going into the draft. Of course only time will tell, but if these young guys
pan out and with our current group of players on the roster, we may have
reloaded quickly and will be able to compete with other playoff caliber teams.
And with a new OC, I am much more excited about the upcoming season
than I have been in the past.

We have all griped for so many years a bout the lack of talent on our O-line, it was nice to see it finally addressed early.

We have a Day 1 starter in DeCastro. I believe Adams will start in Year 2. Looking forward to seeing what Rainey can do. With his athleticism I am hoping we can get the ball in hands 3-5 times a game to start off. Toney Clemons, well it was nice to draft a local product, there may be a spot for him as the 5th WR, I wish him all the best. I recall Paulson alot from playing at Oregon. He will be an H-back k ind of guy. Let him and Johnson go at it, best man wins. I don't like Beachum's size, probably PS at best.

On the defensive side of the ball, Let's see if Butler can get Spence use to playing inside on a 3-4. It will be different for the kid, that's for sure. He will be a depth guy for now. Of course we all love Ta'Amu. I don't think Hampton is going to be ready to go, so I tihnk Ta'Amu will battle McClendon for the starting NT gig. My money is on the big man. I do like what Terrence Frederick brings to the table. I think we may even have an opening for him.

All in all this was an amazing draft. Certainly a 'Grade A' type of draft, and for once, even all the "experts" agree!

I was joking with a friend after Adams was drafted that this was the Steelers speaking to the fans directly:

"Ok, we've heard you. We're addressing the o-line. Happy?"

Why, yes. Yes I am. :)

It's funny because that's exactly what I was thinking as this draft unfolded. I don't remember another Steeler draft in which the Steelers management and the fans were of such similar opinions. Every pick seemed to be the result of a fan poll or something!

O.K. If I wasn't afraid before - watching those two videos would do it.

I'm for one, thrilled with the new O-Line hopefuls. :dancing:
But, like #92 said on his twitter........."It doesn't matter, until you put the pads on in the NFL". :applaud:
