Those are a lot of legends right there ! I've always heard those concerts (and especially the festivals) they have in Chicago are "can't miss" events. The blues are HUGE up there ! I've been to Chi Town before, but never made it to a show, so that's certainly on my to do list. In the next yr or two, I plan on dedicating an entire summer to tour and check out only blues (and jazz) concerts in the big cities. Will definitely have to bring a good video recorder along for the trip lol !

Yeah that would be fun for sure. Texas blues is probably my favorite but I love the brassy sound of the Chicago stuff. It's amazing how people over here never realized how great it was until people from Britain opened their eyes. If not for guys like Clapton and Beck most people over here would have never even known about half these guys.

I had the pleasure of seeing BB King for a concert at Red Rocks in Colorado. Great venue and great show by the legend. I would have loved to seen John Lee Hooker and RL Burnside before they passed, but BB was awesome.

If anyone ever gets the chance to go to the Telluride Blues and Brews festival it is well worth the trip. 3 days of blues with incredible scenery.

Burnside was great. Dude would just sit there in a chair and play some blues. SRV was a huge JLH fan in his biography called "Caught in the Crossfire" there's a story about Stevie playing a tribute show to Hooker and George Thorogood was on the bill and during sound check they asked him to turn down and he refused to do so. Apparently SRV never respected him after that because of his disrespect for John Lee Hooker. I never liked George anyway. Incredibly sloppy and overrated slide player.
