So now we have two big athletic corners on the outside.

Gay has been a pleasant surprise since he's come back.

Yeah, Gay will still be on the field a lot. Plus the rats don't run the ball well, but have fast receivers, so Burns should fit fairly well.

I suppose it is time to see what Artie can really do.

Here is hoping he can put some of those early season struggles behind him. He does possess all the tools to succeed. It is a matter of self discipline now and the only way for him to get better is to continue to spill some blood.

The bleeding for him will stop sooner rather than later.

Burns is a world class hurdler and accomplished track star. He should do well with BreShad Perriman and Mike Wallace.

He better start tackling in the run game, I have seen him shy away from contact like Deion Sanders used to.

Hell if he can learn to cover like Deion he can shy away from all the contact that he wants.

If he is ready though it could be a huge boost. They had to do something. I wonder if they are going to try and go more man cover 2 with Burns and Cockrell on the outside.

Burns gave me great hope when he broke up a pass earlier this year. THAT is how bad our corners have been when a single play excites me for what might be coming. LOL! Colbert did say on draft day though that he thought Burns would be good in bump and run. I think Cockrell is a solid cover guy too.

This is news I have been hoping for, we have spent a lot of our high picks the last 3 years on fixing this defense between LB and CB. I hope he is ready, I agree he hasn't shown much in the tackling department however if he can shut down their speedy WR's I will be happy. The last thing I want to see is Wallace in the end zone vs us with a Gayven uniform on. I don't know if this is the time to make the switch meaning a big game vs our rival but I trust the coaching staff and coming off the bye has to be a big plus.

Inject the youth. Gay has not been that solid.

If he can make plays like Sanders I'm fine with him playing two hand touch.

Don't get me wrong I like what he can do in a coverage stand point,, but the kid can't tackle nearly as well as Gay. But like many have said in the thread Gay will be in the Slot (right where he belongs) he is goo there.
