Well that is the bottom line. They stand in the way to the Super Bowl. We could have won all 4 of those game but we are still not going to beat those 2.
The goal is to build a team to beat the best. That's the benchmark.

There is a post I did in response about how all the pieces are failing here. So in general, I kind of agree.

 

One of the worst mistakes by Tomlin is letting Brian Flores go and keeping Austin as DC. Flores would've been awesome as DC.

You take a few wins here and there in a few regular seasons, and that stupid record is long gone and what do you have?

A guy who can't win in the post-season because he is out-coached every time, and no media hanging off his nutsack spewing their favourite easy narrative, no need to actually do any research just go on TV and spout "Never had a losing season".

Flores would have wanted control of the defense and to run his scheme. We all know Mike isn’t having that, this is his show. While I don’t think he actually is quite as involved on offense his conservative run the ball and don’t commit turnovers scared game-plans certainly are.
