Actually it isn’t. We had receivers open. Kenny crapped the bed.

Nobody is getting fired mid-season. And the roster is now built for playing in a 10 yard box. A new coordinator wouldn't make much of a difference.

While I agree, KP has to take his share of the blame, this article highlights even more of the issues. 4 stats that stood out in Steelers vs Niners (usatoday.com)

From last years dismal running game we were told that was a priority, yet we run the ball 10 times??? We brought in Seumalo and traded 2 of our 'problems', it may gel, but besides him this is NOT a new line, but they played no better than the last couple of years. IDK the reason for KP's accuracy yesterday, over hype, rushed the throws, forced them, what ever...Ben had bad days, but we are not going anywhere running the ball 10x a game, throwing it 46, and doing so in a scheme that has not worked since the OC got here.

Hard to run the ball when...
    1. The o is going 3 and out.
    2. The d is allowing points most drives
    3. The Qb is throwing ints.

Follow the money. Rooney probably won't spend for a quality OC

Spot on Post, absolutely running the ball only 10 times and throwing it 46 times...Is a recipe for disaster...

Ben had games that he threw it 46 times, but for 400-500 yards in shootouts...KP is not that QB, and may never be...

Run the ball, mix in the pass, play good D...Is the way this team HAS to play

Look at the 1st run play where Harris got decleated. That was a text book run play that was missing one key element and the Niners played it beautifully. Now without a lead blocker/FB or a pulling guard or TE coming in motion to hit the hole and block the MLB you have to hope that the Niners get over zealous and jump a gap right into a block. That didn't happen, they were patient and the MLB met Harris in the hole and blew it up. The only way that play works for a gain is if the LG slides off the dbl team and seals the inside but that didn't happen. That wasn't a Kenny problem that is poor play design and bad formation focus. There were other head scratches as well. They barely used Conner until Muth was banged up, they didn't attack the middle with Washington. They didn't try PA with any of the TE's. If Canada wants to run a college offense then commit to it and run RPO that forces the defense to cover the ground and exposes the middle zones. Lemar Jackson parlayed that into an MVP season. The Steelers have the horses to do something similar.

You can't run it when the Oline is getting dominated. Your unhealthy disdain for Pickett is pathetic and he's going to make you crab walk in due time.

Actually it does. As Strummer pointed out, go look it up.

This is another area where perception doesnt match up to reality. It’s like the bubble screen, also had good yardage but everyone moaned about that, too.

2nd and short, opening drive, good opening play...You haven't " set anything up yet " ...That's the kind of play you " set up"...a " trick play "...

Who TF are you tricking on the SECOND play of the Game...

There is a lot of room between 0-16 lions terrible and super great. What they are both saying was that there were some plays to be made and Pickett was not ready for the responsibility. I would lean very much into they were ill prepared and had practiced a game plan that didn't survive the opening drive and weren't able to adapt and overcome. The injuries didn't help but one of the few negatives from Kahn's 1st official year is choosing young cheap guys for lower depth over veterans who know the system.

Punter ****ing the Steelers every time he punted in field position didn’t help.

steelers defense other than Watt not getting pressure on Purdy didn’t help.

Canada not calling a good game didn’t help.

pickett missing passes for TDs didn’t help.

Mike Tomlin not having his team prepared for the hundredth time hasn’t helped in 12 years.

3 playoff wins and mediocre teams with or without a “Franchise QB”

Head coaching matters and there are very few who can do it well.

Steelers will never win a title as long as Mike Tomlin is the head coach. The sooner ownership sees this the sooner the Steelers can finally get out of this rut.

What is good yardage? First downs and touchdowns are what I consider good yardage, that's what bubbles screens and jet sweeps are designed for.

yes - Kenny SUCKED. He missed some early throws that would have moved the chains. He sucked

there is garbage yardage and good yardage. when you are down 20-7 atthe half (20 - 0 for 28 minutes), with no first-downs until the 2 minute warning, you have SUCKED.

this is why stats are generally meaningless.

the STAT that matters is WINNING - and we don't do that much any more.

The only stat that really matters in football is a player's ring size.;+)
