I mean Tomlin can’t let this go on half a season like he did a year ago and not address it this time not this season. Tomlin and Rooney are the ones who brought this guy back so it’s on them to take some accountability and fix it if things don’t improve a lot id say these next 4 games before the bye week after the Ravens game on October 15th. Yes Kenny Pickett must be a lot better he was awful yesterday and it’s not all on Canada but watching yesterday if Canada thinks he can call games like that again and win it’s not gonna happen. You can’t sit around again like Tomlin likes to do and just “hope” things get better and Canada figures it out. You gotta make a change early this year and you gotta do it I think in the next month if we don’t start seeing improvements on offense immediately.

I agree. I think the problem is, I don't think the guys behind him are any better. I saw some videos of the guys offense they hired to be pass game coordinator and I was very underwhelmed.

I’ve been a critic of his this off season but yesterday had nothing to do with Canada.

And for all the handwringing about jet sweeps, they seem to work well for the 49ers.

Tomlin said last year he thought it would be hard on Pickett to have a change in OC during his rookie year since he was still learning the system. The problem with that logic is that if the OC is as bad as Canada has been, the bad coaching is more of a detriment than the changing of coaches.

When his contract expires, shocked if before

One of my largest problems w Tomlin is the quality of his staff. Not sure he picks them.or Art tells him who to hire, but either way needs to end ASAP

P.S. Tomlin as defacto DC needs to end also

    IMO

A lot of those big runs by the 49ers came against 3 safeties on the field.

Just my opinion, but Minkah aside ... it is probably our weakest position on this team, why have 3 of them out there?

Our ILB were still in the wrong gaps at times ... it just has to get better!

Again, why is this topic so black or white for some people? Can't two things be true?

    :this!:

Absolutely! Kenny sucked wind yesterday but Canada stinks as an OC. No 400 yard game from the offense since he’s been the OC and that’s with four different quarterbacks. But some want to always blame the quarterbacks. It’s never the offensive gameplan or the scheme or the route concepts. Can’t possibly be that, can it? Meanwhile, in that 36 game stretch, there have been about 269 occurrences of 400 yard games, but ZERO for the Steelers. We don’t have a real offensive coordinator, we’ve got a coordinator who is real offensive!

I don't think...Ya, The OL did play poorly but
...Pickett made A TON of horrible throws,Guys WIDE open, and he wasn't even close...DJ, could have walked in for a TD, Nobody around him...And he missed him by 10 yards, on a 10 yard pass...

How is any of that Canadas fault...

Canada is a default button for a lot of you, regardless of what actually happened...

    " Let's just blame Canada...Because we DON'T want to blame Kenny "

Well because of guys are getting open, and Your Qb
    can't
    1. See them
    2. Hit them
It doesn't matter who is calling the plays.
I'd get this if I saw nobody open yesterday, or I didn't see the Qb under throw, over throw, throw behind the targets, or just not even see them.
Everyone on this board knows I hated the Canada hiring, and I was called a hater by many on this board when I explained why I didn't want Him, but yesterday had almost nothing to do with Canada, and most to do with KFP.
Quick rule of thumb (usually....not always). If teams have to keep getting different OCs it's because the Qb is not good, and they are looking for something....anything to help. Most good Qbs OCs go on to be hired elsewhere as head coaches.

Again, point to where I defended Pickett about yesterday's game? I never once said that Canada was to blame for yesterday's game. I simply said Canada is still an ongoing issue with the team or do you not believe that's true?

I think some of you are making a claim that I don't see happening. I haven't seen one post on here blaming Canada more than Pickett yesterday. I have seen posts that suggest he was part of the problem. Now you can take that for what it's worth and in my opinion, Pickett gets the lions share of the blame from yesterday but that does not mean Canada is not still an issue.

Again...You weren't on the board when I went on a rant about the Steelers hiring Him....I freaking hated the hire...., and was called a hater, and I didn't know what I was talking about. It's all on here to look up, but I can't blame a guy for yesterday's performance, and that's what most are talking about is yesterday's performance.....when guys were open. I can't. I have to blame the guy that's not seeing them, and not hitting them.
You seen what happened when Purdy threw behind his targets...., or didn't see them....those were the only time we stopped them.

Most of the same problems we're seeing now were the same problems we had before Ben retired. Ben and his O had problems with Canada's system, and now those problems are affecting the new guys. We're not "just blaming" Canada. There's evidence that he's a big contributor to the problem. Yeah, Kenny was terrible, but there's more to it than that overall.

Great post...I KNOW, You're a Fan of Pickett, and I KNOW, You're not a Fan of Canada...

I'm not a Fan of either, but this was a brutally honest post, Where you threw out your bias

Exactly, why bother learning a bad system. Of course there are the age old arguments, is it the system or the talent? Is it the design or the execution? For me, I just don't see any flavor to what Canada does, everything is just so vanilla. They always say that the nfl is a copy cat league, well Canada needs to study every play KC runs, it seems as though their receivers are constantly wide open.
