they are saying we are soft. they are right. we have no identity. Ben is part to blame for this, I think - on offense. We used to be a hard nosed run it up their *%# team. We are now dink and dunk - got away from hard run first FB. So, Tomlin and Ben conspired to allow this to happen, and we have sucked for 5 years for it....
even with Bell and Brown, we still sputtered (Ben is in the mix all of the time....). Haley and Ben were OK, but didn't like each other. Haley did coach and teach him and prolonged his career.

on D, VW88 and JH used to hit like a bag of bricks. Only TJ hits like that today, at LB. Bush set us back a number of years. So did the LOUSY Edmunds draft pick. and Minkah is very talented but not a thumper. No one is afraid to play us any longer.

We will be in a malaise for 3-5 years is my guess.

Nice job there Rooney giving MikeyT an extension.......you big dummy

You’re missing my point. I’m not saying you can’t complain or rant or criticize.
I’m asking why certain people that predict doom and gloom all the time seem so surprised and even more angry when their predictions come true.

watt is a great player, but I wouldn’t call him a thumper but any stretch of the imagination. I think the hardest hit we’ve seen all year came from Mason Rudolph against a cornerback. Mason knocked him out of the game.

And we've answered you - because we're Steeler fans. Rocky's mad because he's a Steeler fan. You think he's predicting a blowout win this week? If not, is he still a fan in your eyes?

I think your liking of Vince is clouding your judgement a bit. I give Vince credit he showed up every day ready to work and while you are correct he could hit and hit hard but he was limited by his ability. His answer to not knowing the play was to hit someone and hope it distracted from not knowing the play. He was poor to average in coverage, a terror when blitzing unopposed, below average in play recognition and good tackler when he did know the play. He was jumping the first gap he saw long before Bush was which leads me to believe it's a failure in coaching. All in all if your saying he would be the savior for the problems in the middle I don't think so.

Also he retired on the eve of training camp and the Steelers didn't trade for Schobert until several weeks later when it became apparent Spillane wasn't up to the challenge. The trade had no impact on His retirement as you claimed yesterday.

Wouldn't you say ... that they're hoping for change ... that, they know won't come? I think, that's where the doom and gloom comes from.
