I usually pick the Steelers to win, this week I forgot to put my picks in at all...

* Newsflash, Even if on that poll, I pick the Steelers to lose...I still cheer like hell for them to win! They're just not a very good team at all!

This coming week, I'll probably pick the Steelers to lose,I just think.the Ravens are a better team... Does that make me less of a fan than you Glemm?

The signs of this demise have been right in front of us for years. That’s what is so frustrating for us paying any attention. Yes there are trolls who are on here and don’t even like the Steelers but that’s far and few between.

Now that Ben is done and he can no longer carry this organization we are in for a rough ride. Steelers haven’t been really bad since those three non playoff years with Cowher in the late 90s. Really hope it’s only a few years and not much longer or Glenn might be begging for anyone to post on here.

Turner was terrible by all accounts last year. The rest are 3rd and 4th rounders who are 50/50 if that to be in the league in 4 years.

Turner was playing injured last season, he's no worse than DeCastro was last season, 3rd and 4th rounders have a lot more potential than practice squad players.

The OP has a very good point. During last year's remarkable, unexpected 11-0 start, this Board was full of whiners complaining about how awful the Steelers looked in winning and by such small margins and why couldn't they look super dominant in their wins. Obviously injuries and a tired Ben flipped that all around 2/3rds of the way through the season but the complaints never stopped. That's the point the OP's making. The fairest repeat thread around here used to be "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" after each game. It got everyone (well almost everyone) to be objective. For example, the "Good" from yesterday's game was that it only lasted 60 minutes (actually 5 minutes but who's counting?).

Some TSFs are upset about being right and wish (or hoping) they were wrong? Kind of like gamblers, knowing the odds are against them, but still get pissed off when they lose. Human nature, I guess.

 

If I remember correctly, Wormley is the only one of those four guys to actually start a game for the Steelers this season. Charlton started in place of Watt against the Chargers. Mondeaux plays a lot, but I don't think he has started. Haeg came on in relief at guard a couple of times, but it was Finney who started in place of Dotson this past week.

I remember that thread. Yes, I was pointing out the shortcomings of the offense because Ben was a full yard under his Average yards per pass career averages and the offense wasn't running the ball well, but the defense was giving them good field position. And yes, I was enjoying the 11-0 start. 6-10-1 since that time and the whiners are louder and rightly so. At the same time, people need to realize the team is in transition. The salary cap loss this year hurt, the o-line is a work in progress and may take two years to fix, the d-line is a mess without Tuitt and Alualu, there is no depth on defense, and Ben is 39 and aging fast. If Tomlin somehow keeps his non-losing streak alive, I will be impressed.

And they were right. Process matters. Pointing out the unsustainability of winning ugly with bad process isn't necessarily whining.

 

Some would say Bush is no better than a PS player right now. My point is maybe we haven't done the best job in filling our OL needs regardless of where they played before or were drafted. Right now, at least, they are not playing at the level we'd hope for. JMO>

 

So if I just say... well the Arizona Cardinals are the worst 9-2 team I've ever seen, and they don't go 2 the SB...therefore I'm a genius, or....Because only 2 teams can make it 2 the SB....I'm just taking the odds, and if they happen 2 make it ....I can always say .....Well I'm glad I'm wrong.
