So, do we root for Baltimore or Cincy?

Trying to figure out who to root for on Sunday. As painful as it seems, I'm thinking we have to root for the Ravens. Cincinnati beat us twice and we still have one more game against Baltimore.

Yeah we’re going to want the Ravens in this one for the very reason you mentioned.

Ravens but Bengals will probably win. Baltimore's secondary is toast and Burrow and his passing attack are clicking.

Definitely Baltimore. A Cincinnati win does a lot of damage to whatever chance we have of winning the division.

Go Ravens!! The AFC beat the NFC pretty bad this season. It is going to help some weak teams in the NFC make the Playoffs. I'm thinking the Steelers will have same record as some NFC Playoff teams but it won't be enough for the AFC.

    What if they tie?

I played around on ESPN’s playoff generator. It’s possible to make the playoffs with either team winning. However, if Cincy wins, Steelers must beat Chiefs. Or, Browns beat Bengals. You can’t rely on Cleveland, that just brings disappointment like 2019.

Steelers beating Chiefs is the best outcome for this weekend. A tie would even up all three teams. Then move on to next week.

Yup. If the Bengals win Sunday and the Steelers lose to the Chiefs, the division is all but gone.

Actually, if the Steelers don't win out, they need one of four teams ahead of them to lose twice and some other help. That just isn't going to happen. The Bills, Colts, and Chargers have relatively easy schedules remaining. The Bengals have the most difficult remaining games with the Ravens, Chiefs, and Browns.

If the Ravens win, we control our destiny. If the Bengals win, we have to hope for help to win the division. It's as simple as that.

Winning the Division? You think that the crows are going to beat the bungles? Just to help Ol Pittsburgh out. Win the friggen Chiefs game. Then they might have something.

Ravens will win this one, they are like the Steelers they know how to win. Cincy isn't quite
    their YET.

I think we have a fair chance if we lose Sunday, and win our last 2 IF the Ravens also win Sunday. Remaining schedules for the Bengals and Ravens are not easy. They could both easily lose next week and set up a game where we have a win-and-in scenario in week 18. I see winning the division as a more likely path than the 7 seed. Of course it’s paramount that we take care of our business.

Yes, that’s the case if we beat KC. Otherwise we still need help even with a Ravens win. A Ravens win drops Cincinnati to 8-7, and they could still finish 10-7, while the best we can do with a loss to KC is 9-7-1.

I'm worried the Bengals will win. Since there's nothing to do in Cincinnati, the players will only be thinking about football all week.

They are definitely more likely to win the division than a wild card. The teams ahead of them for the latter have schedules that are way to easy.

I think the Steelers would be absolutely thrilled if they went into the season finale needing only to win to get in rather than needing help. I just don't see them getting the help they would need that week based on the schedule.

I enjoy reading the various scenarios of how we can get in the post season. Then I remember how we have ended the past few seasons and then get depressed. Maybe we'll be different, maybe not. Until we show we are different, we're the same and my expectations adjusted accordingly. Reminds me of Georgia playing Bama for the SEC title this year and actually being favored and then remembering the past failures they've had winning against them. This year, nothing changed once again. This KC game will be the game that changes our destiny or doesn't. JMO>

You are 100% correct. Do not root for either of these jagoffs, just against the one whose victory is worse for the Steelers.

For once, the tie could help. I don't see Steelers beating KC, though. Browns and Ravens... maybe.

that would bring the tiebreakers into play vs the Ravens and the Bengals. Bengals would own the tiebreaker
