We need to reach out and drop kick him in the ass. Steelers should recover all money paid to him if it was unknown to the team too

Probably finding a scape goat and having to do something to save face.... but the story sounds like a bunch of BS to me. Seems to me Scobee pulled both kicks left of the upright..... not a sign that he was weak in the legs with a pulled quad. Sorry, sounds like a reporter excuse or made up by Scobee to save face.

My question is if someone else picks him up yet this year do we still owe him $2.5 million or is the next team responsible for the rest of that money?

Awww, I feel badly that I kicked him when he was down if, in fact, he was hurt.

With that being said, the other three teams can have him. [IMG]

The only things that are hurt on Scobee is his pride and his former football team- the Steelers.
If Scobee did get hurt on Thursday, and I was a kicker, I wouldn't be signing with us- Our kickers are dropping left & right.

He got the 2.5 million guaranteed leaving us with a 2.5 mill dead cap hit for this year: Boswell signed up for a cheaper contract......Chris Boswell signed a 2 year, $1,100,000 contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, including an average annual salary of $550,000. In 2015, Boswell will earn a base salary of $390,000. Boswell has a cap hit of $390,000.

Man must be nice to collect 2.5 million for 4 games played and then get paid even more after failing miserably in the first 4 games. The only people I know with a better gig are the weather folks who can be wrong 99% of the time and keep their jobs...

I didn't like the trade when it happened. And STILL don't get why they even did it to begin with. Even if Scobee turned out to be good for this team, I still think it was too much to give up on a player that everyone KNEW was going to be cut. At least they got something out of the Giants for Wing to help offset the Scobee trade

I forgive them for trying since kickers are directly responsible for putting points on the board, and also for keeping them off. If Scobee was their guy, then I applaud them for making a move to acquire him before anyone else with a problem kicker could pick him up. I didn't think it would turn out this bad, considering his relatively successful career. I think kickers are worth a good investment, and I would even draft one pretty high, like 3rd round high, in order to secure one. So to give up a 6th for Scobee, in my mind, wasn't bad.

Again, this all hinges on the team believing that he's the best guy available. Panicking and throwing a 6th a someone to get any old kicker is a different story when there are plenty of pedestrian kickers to be had off the street.
