Hard to explain this season- Bell and Bryant suspended to start, Pouncey gets hurt (albeit not his fault) our FG kicker kicks like Charlie Brown, Ben gets hurt, we have Vick play QB for a couple games, Landry tries his best, Bell gets injured and out for the year, Beachum blows a knee, Ben turns his ankle, Shazier can't stay healthy ( can't blame him for the concussion) our D plays the game with a "bend don't break" gameplan week in and week out (today it broke as it has for most of the year) it's week 12 and we haven't learned to cover a TE, we run a great offense, and decide to try a fake FG with our backup QB in a two TE set, Ben gets hurt again, we have the WORST CB in the NFL starting , can't get the D off the field on 3rd and long, and whatever else you can add, BUT here we are, in the middle of the playoff race! As bad as it has been so far, as many mistakes as we have made, as many injuries we have had, we can make the playoffs. 5 very winnable games left. We win 4 and we definitely make it, we win 3 and we still have a chance. So, with no luck to this point, and being snakebit we can still make it. Mind boggling...

A strange season indeed....and strange individual games (yet hallmarked with the same frustrations about poor tackling, defensive lapses, bad officiating, bounces that just barely don't go our way -- Cockrell almost recovering, Wheaton almost securing the catch on the sidelines -- and mind-numbing coaching decisions) that seem to require the bizarre combination of all weird things so that we barely end up losing. Yet, it's not unique to this game.

It just still seems so ran-dumb. Go for the throat (our own throat) early with a bizarre 4th down play with Landry Jones, go for 2 up 2 at the end of the half, and then when the game's on the line....kick a field goal to cut the lead to 2 with 3 minutes against a team you've failed to stop all half. Where was the team that went for it against San Diego on the final play with the game on the line (albeit in silly, awful fashion out of the wildcat with no player ready to call timeout if the play failed). A defense that can shut you down (sort of) on first and second down, but the red sea absolutely parts on EVERY SINGLE THIRD DOWN REGARDLESS OF THE DISTANCE! It just doesn't make any sense....yet next week brings fresh hope that maybe 10 strange things don't combine to produce another excruciating loss.

Just take it to the next game. Deep down you knew looking at the schedule the game in Seattle would be a hard game to win. We almost did even with 4 turnovers, and giving up 500 yards on defense.

The need to make personnel changes in the secondary. Blake needs to take a seat, given Grant or Boykin a start. Giving up 1200 yards over the past 3 games is in excusable.
We also need to put better pressure on the QB.

we lose one more I say play Landry the rest of the year and look for backup qb in the draft or FA
Look for a new HC too, one with out canned excuses
