He's limited at this point in what you can call with him. It's exactly what Sean Payton had a problem with, and was brought up from the moment we signed him.

One trick pony, who used to be able to run around make things happen, the moment he fumbled at the 4 yard line against the rats the season turned on a dime. That mistake was just huge.

Yeah, why didn't Kaboly talk about this during the season if true.

if it wasn't for Tomlin being enamored with Wilson, and the fact we would have to give the bears a 4th, I believe JF would have gotten more playing time

    QB's in Review.

Even during Fields 4-2 Stretch, he was shaky. So, I get the switch.
Fields is a frustrating QB. He has a lot of potential.
His downfall is that he just isn't that commanding leader with full grasp of the game.
He can play a dozen series almost to perfection and then 'Boom!'
You have to have in grasp every element of the game.
I always go back to Peyton. If Peyton caught a glimpse of a tendency that a DB had, a gimp or habit of look at the QB, he exploited it.

Wilson runs the offense much better but his skill set is diminished.
Used to be sacking him was like playing whack-a-mole.
He is easy to sack now.

I don't know if Wilson got a long with Smith or not, seems like should have reared it's head.
It drops greatly in credibility during this time of year and the way the season ended where every hint of a conspiracy theory 'is a fact.'
I do hope they move on from but I just can't see how.

If they are just getting the information now how could it have been reported on sooner?

There it is. The report from Albert Breer. Sounds to me like the same problem Russ had when he was in Denver. Regardless now, it all doesnt matter as the season is over.

Can Russell and keep Fields. Max out the Offense as much as possible in both FA and the Draft. Hope it all works out.

They really should stick with Fields. He is young and hasn't maxed out his potential yet. He was making strides until the Steelers pulled the plug on him this season. Russ is clearly on the decline and will only get worse at his age. Darnold is actually still fairly young too (27), but he is really bad under pressure and isn't as mobile as Justin. At least Fields can hurt a defense with his legs and run out of trouble. Plus, Fields might be the cheapest of the three. With those three probably being our best options for next year, I would definitely prefer to have Fields back.

Not sure I walked away with the same takeaways.

He reported that Wilson and Smith had conversations on adapting the offense. This included Smith adapting the offense to Wilson’s strengths.

At the end, the reporter says both Fields and Wilson are both liked as QBs. I don’t see the “smoking gun”.

I don’t see the fascination with Fields. I recognize Wilson is old and a shell of himself, but I don’t really want an entire season of Fields.

The only positive about the dysfunction around this team and lacking a coherent offensive philosophy is positioning for a good draft pick in 2026.

The wheels are getting wobbly on this team.

I think a lot of it is, what the hell else are they gonna do? This is a terrible time to need a QB desperately. Just like when we drafted Kenny.

JF was 4-2 playing the “easy” portion of the schedule. Sure the Chargers and Broncos made the playoffs, but Nix was just getting acclimated to the league and Herbert was hurt. Other than that, he beat the dysfunctional Raiders and the Falcons

He does seemingly have that vet loyalty bug that sometime hurts you by not getting some of new blood out on the field.

Not the first report about this. There was one a few months ago about the two of them having a few moments

It’s not so much the yards per game as he showed signs of improvement in the areas that got him in trouble in Chicago. Also remember this is his 4th OC in as many years. I didn’t want him to begin with, but as it stands he’s probably our best option.
