I retired and don't drive much so I decided to dump SiriusXM.

I loged into my account found a little box to cancel by chat.

After saying I wanted to cancel a couple of times the offered to cut my monthly fee from $17.99 to $5.99.

That with taxes etc is about a $160 a year discount.

    I accepted it.

Sounds like the way DTV worked before AT&T took over. When I quit 2 years ago all they said was where to send the box.

That's what I do. I like some of the App steaming stations that you can't get in the vehicle. My fave is the Surf music channel, just surf instrumentals 24/7. I'm in hog heaven. Some crazy good stuff.

That's funny. I said the same thing about Keith "Urban" being a "Country" music star. :hmm: But I digress. It started early. I was the biggest Beach Boy fan in Pittsburgh until I moved to LA a long long time ago where they had like 10 regular UHF TV stations with a few that played Surf music and surfing videos from midnight till dawn, long before the info-mercial was invented. That's when my love for this music genre really jelled. As far as surfing - I tried it once and nearly killed myself when the board hit me in the head (yes, that explains a lot). I also hate the taste and smell of salt water. But Surf music - still a big fan. :guitarplayer:

Got to see him play live twice. He prided himself on blowing out sound systems. Saw him last when he was 80 up in Big Bear - he was still going strong and claimed Quentin Tarentino wrote the screenplay for Pulp Fiction around his music. The soundtrack bears this out but the entire screenplay....hmmm. :hmm:

I just did this dance with them. My contract expired and the monthly rate tripled. So I canceled. After a couple weeks they were begging me to return for $5 a month.
