    Sadly fellow members... I need some rest before I will give you my thoughts of the defense.

    - One that was heavily criticized at the beginning of the season.

    - One that was deemed the weakness all season.

    - One that many reputed would be the downfall should/if the team made it to the playoffs.

    No one gave them a chance..... this story seems familiar does it not circa 2005?

    As I said guys, very exhausted. I will have my "analysis" (no All 22 :shrug:) tomorrow. Before I go though.. I have said this statement in many forms or variations. I will say it one last time;

    "Great teams are not always great. They are just great when they have to be."

    The D has come a very long way since the beginning of the season.

    I attribute:

    1.) Ending the OLB rotation to keep Dupree and Harrison in,

    2.) a healthy Shazier,

    3.) three stud rookies playing at a high level, and

    4.) more aggressive play calling by Butler, which is probably a direct result of #3.

    They are hitting their stride at the right time. Damnit what I wouldn't give for a healthy Cam Heyward though.

    But we're fast every where and speed kills

    I agree, they've grown - way beyond my (and most everyone else's) expectations. But we weren't wrong in our early analysis. Growth is a good thing.

    Love our D, but know this, it's gonna get torched next week, then 2 weeks after. But I have faith it will do enough for W's

    It was wonderful. Funny thing is I was not nervous one bit in 05, 08. 2010 I was but that's when I got anxiety lol. I wasn't nervous til the last 3 minutes today

    Not going to criticize the defense, because I thought they played well but look at the bigger picture

    They allowed KC to score 16, which is decent but the last time they played KC they held them to 14. I think tonight's performance was solid and it's a good overall effort.

    They still need to get better in late 4th quarter situations. They allowed two 4th down conversions and a 3rd and very long to be converted on KC's last drive (75 yards) when a stop ends the game. They need to be better on closeout drives - they let Dallas win a game late, they let Baltimore go on a long drive late.

    Even with a great performance I think it's tough to expect them to hold NE to anything less than 24. NE played terrible on offense (for them) and still put up 34 yesterday. Offense is going to have to be on point next week - ball control to keep it away from Brady.

    ... but RPO... You better not forget these reasons too;

    Tomlin reached too high for Artie Burns!

    Tomlin picked the wrong safety in Sean Davis!

    Javon was picked before Andrew Billings!

    This team "Achilles Heel" was our defense!

    Just blame Tomlin!

    Can't say enough about our D especially 48 and 92. The offense needs to score some more touchdowns no more FG's.

    We also need to win more games and can lose no more games.

    I'm assuming this is also the longest win streak under Tomlin isn't it? I can't think of another just off the top of my head.

    I think this game was a nice test for our defense. Now we move on to another dink and dunk team with a less mobile QB.

    Gravedigger and Tuitt were getting a nice push up the middle. Debo and Bud getting nice pressure. Less mobile QB's wouldn't have fared as well tonight.
