C'mon are you serious? "Victorian must be bad"

Did you not watch him play last season? He gave up 10 yard completions about every snap he was on the field. I wasn't a huge fan of Gay when he was here but I don't think I hated him as much as everyone else... but having a guy with plenty of starting experience (in our scheme) to play the 3rd or 4th CB spot is pretty awesome.

I'm sure this is a backup plan in case Keenan Lewis doesn't re-sign. Ike, Allen, with Gay in the slot would be solid, but if there were any injuries we'd be in trouble. Ike, Lewis, with Allen in the slot and Gay backing them up would be phenomenal.

I know that about Victorian which is what I was saying. I'm saying that if GAY is his replacement you KNOW Victorian was as bad as we all knew he was. Honestly I've said that I think in some ways Victorian covered up any weakness Lewis might've had because they were constantly throwing towards him and away from Lewis. I don't think Lewis is the 2nd coming of Blount or Woodson. Sorry. I just don't. But don't get me wrong. I know Victorian is horrible and I'm glad to keep him off the field. I just wish it were someone better than a guy that used to get torched every game that is replacing him.

 

It's a done deal.... . Willie gay is back as of this morning.. don't know the details of the contract, but he's back...... personally, I agree with those who say he is our 4th best cb, and I believe that in that capacity he makes our secondary that much stronger

 

Yeah, I just don't see how this is a negative. Brown is now has to earn his spot. He is either the 4th or 5th CB assuming Lewis comes back with the potential to be on the street if he doesn't earn his spot.

I hope they let Lewis walk now...Gay as the 4th corner does nothing but squash the development of youth.....Go with Ike, and Allen as the starters...let Gay and YOUTH fight for the nickel.

I think this does spell the end of K.Lewis in Pittsburgh. I think signing Gay means they're not confident in Brown to handle the nickel spot.

 

I wonder if BA convinced the Cards to let him go? Fitz had a really bad year last year too. Any chance we could end up with him also? Perhaps Mike Wallace could job shadow Larry for while or maybe even offer to give him a ride to the ATM before they hang out in the evening.

well welcome back hack. i've been meaning to let you know your call on amerson at the combine was right, he ran well. i got one for you, how about his teamate back there in earl wolff the safety? i am super impressed with his play and the insticts to read a play so fast is exceptional. maybe an nc st. package deal? huh?

 

I made a lot of STEELHACK sigs back when we were all on the OSMB, but they were always for other boards because obviously that board would not allow it.

I am still all in on Amerson.... David Amerson and Cortez Allen would be a great starting pair of CB's in a year or two.....Browner, Sherman like...(which were also two guys I pimped HARD)

EDIT: The stupid people remarks were part of my sabbaticle......but they do fit on most successful MB's....There are a handful of people here I truly enjoy talking to and debating with.....the rest.....well they either need more knowledge on football or message board etiquette

If you don't have an opinion...keep it to yourself. Feel free to discuss why you think signing "insert player" is a good idea, or a bad one. But don't just stop in long enough to tell everyone how dumb they are for even having such a discussion. Don't say the Steelers would never do it....or that you are happy that we are not in charge of the team. Just feel free to go read a thread that does interest you....Don't ruin other peoples fun just because you have a stick up your Ravens.

I don't see how you can get that from the article. All they say is it's possible we lose Lewis via free agency.
