I don't know about his faith or if that had anything to do with it, I think Tebow just figured Sanchez would be benched and maybe he thought the Jets offered a better chance to win overall.

Yeah it would make sense that Sanchez would get benched and he would have a better shot to be on the field. I wonder if Rex cleaned up his potty mouth around Tebow??? LOL.

Yeah like it's that easy for a QB to just switch to TE or FB at the NFL level we don't know if he can catch or block. People who say he's a great football player that was in college, if Tebow is so great how come 3 teams gave up on him already. Who cares if he's a good person bottom line is he's not a good QB and he said he didn't want to switch to another position. Take him over Landry Jones hell no Jones might be a project but he's still a better passer get a clue.

I am shocked Belichek did not convert him to a TE,
really this is the only position that he could truly succeed
at in the NFL long term. And the time to get him up to speed,
(blocking) is just too much for the teams in the NFL.

I agree, Tebow belongs in the NFL. He is good enough, he proved he could win. I would take him any day over the 2 back ups we have now. His presence and leadership would be incredible. He might also prove to be a Steve Young type guy that develops into a good passer.

3–16. In his 19 games, he threw for only 11 touchdowns with 21 interceptions while completing fewer than 55% of his passes

Also known as Steve Young in his 2 year NFL career before the 49ers

Sometimes you just need and actual TEAM around you to get into the HOF

Tebow has been black-balled by the NFL.. What Sexy Rexy did to him last year was pathetic.
I'll take both of those OPINIONS with me to the grave.

Tebow had one of the best teams in the NFL around him. He had Decker and Demaryius Thomas, plus a few good TE's. He had a very good running game. He had a very good defence and a guy that made numerous game winning 50+ yard field goals. The only thing lacking in Denver that year was a QB.

Tebow is a terrible QB, always has been, always will be. There's a reason all 32 GM's want nothing to do with the guy.

Blount and I touched on this, Tebow should have picked Jax but I bet he was promised hed be starting in NY and the only reason the owner probably wanted him was to sell tickets, all he needed was his name.

His best chance was with Jax, would have been his home state, beloved by all and no pressure to win right away, would have gotten the time to develop his game and they could have built a system around him. People can make excuses for why he won in Denver all they want but he won. Not saying he would of been a HOF but he could have had a career in this league.

    Good post..
I agree Jax would've been the perfect fit. People can say what they want but he's a winner and always has been. He's a leader and always has been. It's about the W's not style points.

Well I can tell you one person who likes Tebow and thinks I'm just close minded and vindictive and a know it all (which are all true) and it's my mother-in-law. I found that out this morning when she came over to babysit and they were talking about this on NFL Network and I said "man he's horrible" and she said "he looked successful on the clips they just showed" and I said "those were all bums that aren't gonna be in the NFL" and she said "but he won the Heisman so he must be really good" and I said "the bums he played against in college are long gone and these are the most talented players in the world" and she said "no he played against good people in college" and I said "most of the players that attend the NFL draft don't even make it and the ones that do are completely out of football in 3 years and he didn't play against NFL talented vets in college" and she said "you're just saying that because you don't like him". She's wrong about that. I do like him PERSONALLY but just not as a qb. Here's a pretty good perspective I think. 32 pro coaches, scouts, owners, coordinators, and overall franchises had time to take him and they didn't. Who knows football? A housewife or the true pros? I mean really think about it. Not trying to be a jerk but I'm just saying.

Well, 3 teams have so far, book hasn't been written, still some chapters left, won't be long before someone else gives him a shot.

So, the teams that have given him a chance don't count? He hasn't retired, he'll get another shot, you watch.

Oh they count. I'm just saying that this week they all had a shot at him and no one took him and he didn't even beat out Sanchez and that doesn't speak well of his skill. I wish him well but I just don't see him having a long career as an NFL qb.

I'm just replying now to see how long this thread will go :lolol:

No one from either camp on this topic will ever convince the other side of anything. Tebow is the only one that can do that.

I agree about that. I was just thinking yesterday that I can't believe how many hits this thread got. It's amazing what a lightning rod Tebow is. I mean technically since he's not in the NFL anymore this isn't only UNSteeler Related it's not even FOOTBALL Related! LOL. I just think ultimately there won't be a coordinator that can put together a system that he can really be utilized in. I honestly would like to see him run the read option in Washington just to go out there and lower his shoulder in to dudes. I think he's a pure football player but just not a pure qb for a span of a career.

Now you're just baiting me. He could change positions with his eyes closed while baking a cake. No problemo.
