Suddenly fans don't care about winning? At the end of the day, it's what they care about most. You can bank on that. Why bench them before the legal process runs its course and before the NFL expresses their opinion on the matter, potentially punishing the entire team more than necessary? Whatever the team decides to do, I'm ultimately fine with (within reason), because there is really no right answer.

Because maybe we get ahead of this incident and the punishment from the league won't be as bad. You know how Goddell feels about the Steelers. (Just my opinion) I don't buy that excuse of punishing the entire team. What message do you send when the day before a game you did an illegal act? If that was any other league you would not have made it to the bus. I think they should have been benched and not even made the trip. That would have gave the other guys trying to get a spot on a team some film.

You sit them to send a message this type of behavior won't be tolerated, the NFL punishment probably won't come until 2015.

I think Tomlin should fine them, and then sit Bell the first game and then sit Blount the second game. They embarrassed and disrespected the Steelers organization, forget waiting until 2015 for the league to discipline them.

Steelers have missed the playoffs 2 seasons in a row, have any idea how much revenue they lost because of that? If Im the Rooneys, I don't even think of sitting these guys, every win is vital. Not saying they'd lose for sure but why put yourself at a disadvantage. Not sure why its imperative to punish them so quickly and a fine would be enough of a punishment anyway.

I really wonder if fines are effective at all because of how much money they already have. I'm not saying I'm against fining them but just that I don't know if it really "hurts" ya know? I mean if speeding tickets were 25cents I would be much more prone to fly but since the cost is relatively high for me I watch my speed. For these guys it's probably that they just view fines as like 25cents and not as that much of a deterrent.

Good points, I just don't like these 2 idiots showing up to work high and waiting a year to punish them. I wouldn't suspend them both at the same time though.
