I don't see it happening. That split was kind of ugly. Having said that, they could sure as hell use him.

He sure dropped his price from thinking he out played his $8m contract.

Dumb ass talked his way out out of $5m or more.

I don’t believe Nelson will play for $3m

Despite how he departed I wouldn’t mind them bringing him back, but he’d look like a total fool coming back on a cut price contract so I don’t think it’ll happen.

I’d feel a lot happier about our secondary if he was there tbh

Should have cut Haden and extended him 3-4 years, but they were in Win Eight Games Now Mode this offseason.

I’d agree with you, but then we would both be wrong.

I still prefer Haden.. but no to Nelson. Not only would he feel the slap to the ego. But also what # would you like....#22 is taken.

Sign him up he over valued himself and he now knows his market Give him 3.5 and the ability to make 2.5 more if certain high goals are met ..This should take the sting out of his ego a bit and have him going all out to reach those goals..

Who cares about his ego? Smith-Schuster had to take less than he expected, too. They have the cap space now and the team is certainly better with him than without him.

I'm really wanting to see James Pierre start, I think the guy has it.

But, I'm kind of ready to roll with Haden, Sutton and Pierre, but depth worries me beyond those 3.

Last Time I seen him run.
    No thanks. LoL.
Now if it was back in the day Woodson....I'd trade 3 of our CBs for him.

That would be a reason for him to say no, but it is not a reason for the team to pass on him.

He might not have a choice but to play for 3 million.

He’s clearly overvaluing himself. When he accepts that, he may have a job again.

I doubt it will be with us though, that would be a tough pill for him to swallow.

I'd steer clear of a one year deal with Nelson, if he wanted to be here he would be here.

Nelson is like 4 years younger, you obviously haven't watched Sherman play the last few years, he can't cover anymore.

People are just fascinated with the legend of Sherman. He’s not worth the money it would take to sign him.

I actually pay a lot of attention to Sherman. I had him to the Steelers in round 3 if my mock.. he went in the 5th to Seattle... and became one of the best in the business......

Obviously you can't do a 1 to 1 comparison because they covered different WR and had different responsibilities etc....But let's look at the stats..and I will add Haden for a reference

Sherman was injured last year... so let's look at the last 2 years regular season for a better picture.

    AGE
    Sherman 33
    Nelson. 28
    Haden. 32
    Point Nelson

    GAMES PLAYED
    Sherman 20
    Nelson 30
    Haden 30
    Point Nelson for being healthy

    INTS
    Sherman 4. .2/game
    Nelson 3. .1/game
    Haden 7. .23/game
    Point for Sherman

    Passes defensed
    Sherman 20. .6/game
    Nelson 17. .56/game
    Haden 29. .96/game
    Point Sherman

    Tackles
    Sherman 79. 3.95/game
    Nelson. 109. 3.63/game
    Haden 117. 3.9/game
    Point Sherman

    Solo tackles
    Sherman 64. 3.2/game
    Nelson. 95 3.16/game
    Haden. 103. 3.43/ game
    Point Sherman

    Tackles for loss
    Sherman 3. .15/game
    Nelson 2. .06/game
    Haden 5. .16/game
    Point Sherman

    Straight up
    Sherman 5
Nelson 2..... and the only 2 are age and health

If we do a 3 points for first 2 for second and 1 for 3rd... ill give a tie for games played

    Sherman 14
    Nelson 11
    Haden 19

And again Nelson is in 3rd place for every on field stat

I'm not knocking Nelson. He is a starting CB in the league..... but if you are saying Sherman can't cover anyone... what's that say about Nelson?

But all things being equal (money)... if I'm the Steelers.. im looking for 1 year of solid play... ill take the guy who even at 5 years older is putting up better #s.... and hope he can stay healthy
