Let's hope the Lions trade for Dud Dupree.

Something just doesn't click with Dupree when you watch him play. You look at his strength and mobility and think "that guy looks good" but then the play just goes right by him.

His problem is his head. He starts thinking presnap about what he is going to try, bullrush, swim move, rip, spin. Then once the ball is snap it's like he short circuit's and just bullrushes usually at a bad angle. I'd like to see them line him up like a DE in the wide 9. Have him pointed at the QB with his hand in the dirt. That way he can burst up into the blocker and use that bull rush to his advantage.

As long as the Motor City team throws in a rusted out Pinto and a Maverick I'd take it in a heartbeat.

Detroit’s Lb situation is pretty dire and they have so many needs in the draft it’s crazy. I wouldn’t be totally surprised if they traded for him but what is he worth is the question.

Thorn058 hit the nail on the head. If someone uses him right things could be different.

Nothing less than a Vega and a Corvair to be named later!

If I'm Detroit, I'm not giving you more than a 4th. I'll check the June salary cap cut list for LBs and get one as good or nearly so as Bud for nothing, and I won't be taking on his $9mil salary.

SOLD for a 4th rounder! I’d take just about any draft pick for him to clear that salary off of the books.

The Lions' fans know he stinks. The Steelers' fans know he stinks. Everyone in the NFL and media know he stinks. But the Steelers give him $9+M. Why doesn't the Steelers management and coaching staff know he stinks? Is Colbert hoping for a miracle year to salvage this terrible pick? Is this why Burns is still on the team? Hey, maybe the Lions management is dumber than the Steelers management. They just might give 3rd round pick for DuPree if the Steelers throw in Burns!

Since they are on the hook for the 9 million already I want to see if there is a difference between Butler as his position coach and Porter. If the light suddenly comes on and he is a terror that keeps Ola off the field I will call it Porters fault and do a jig. If not then it is an expensive way to realize you should cut him next season but it is what it is.

A trade could be very beneficial to both.

Kind of like our LB situation. Not sure what Colbert would do or take if this were real. Swap kickers as part of the deal?

I'd settle for bringing Fi-Fi back to this condition but it it might cost as much as Duprees contract thanks to Ohio winters. This is when I bought her in 1992

I don't think that article just came out of the blue. Perhaps the Steelers are making calls and trying to see what kind of market there is for Dupree. The reason I'm saying that is the author mentioned that the Steelers are on the hook for his salary unless they can work a long term deal with a lower salary or trade him and move on. The issue is Dupree's production, even the Lion's fan base seems to know how good he is and that tells me there won't be anyone willing to trade for him let alone pay him much more than league minimum, he will finish his contract out here and will be released shortly after.
