yea but troy played for america's team and watson would be playing for a team that's doomed. at least that's what i've read. :smiley1::cool:

It implies the truth came out, which actually didn't happen. Actually, it was the opposite, with only one of the accusers getting to speak and Watson taking the Fifth.

Quote Watson or the lawyer and he would have been fine, but to imply that there was no evidence is crap. Accusations are evidence, especially when there are so many. Sure, they may not be indisputable evidence, but they are evidence.

I also heard that only one accuser was allowed to speak.

I just read that 8 testified. The info coming out is sketchy because it was a closed door proceeding.

If we are foolish enough to judge a quarterback solely by his team's record, then yes, that would be a mistake. Remember, the Texans tanked in 2020, so it is ridiculous to put that 4-12 on him. They were 11-5 and 10-5 in the games he started the two previous seasons.

That's a fair point. It is also why I cringe when I see a reporter even imply that the truth came out.

On the only one testifying.. or 8..conflicting reports

    Follow with my analogy

If I'm trying to knock down a castle wall, and I repeatedly drive my tank into it and it didn't fall.... throwing my other 8 go carts at it probably won't change the outcome

Do I know if the interviewed their best witness? I do not....I would have,.... try to build the solid foundation first then add the supports... but I don't know what they did.

Here is what I do know.

A female prosecuter spent 6 hours showing testimony and evidence and in the end a grand jury said we don't see it as criminal behavior

What information did the grand jury consider? Proceedings are secret but two people with direct knowledge say several of the complainants were in a waiting room & ready to provide testimony, but only one was called in front of the grand jury

Cam started out 25 - 23...didn't work for Him.
Baker Mayfield is 29 - 30. Should We trade for Him??
Just thought I'd throw that in there 2 even it out.

People seem 2 forget the Texans went 9-7 back 2 back 2 back, and only had one losing season in 7 years before He got there.
Some act like He went 2 Detroit, or the Browns.

Does he THINK he was innocent? What you, I or anyone else THINKS isn't what makes OJ guilty or innocent. Nor Watson, either. THAT is the only real problem in cases like this - 90+% of people thinking that what they THINK is what makes people guilty or innocent.

No criminal charges so clearly very little if any evidence to proceed. I get you as a former jurno cringe at that and I agree it was a poorly worded tweet but I knew what he meant.

Watson welcomed a investigation because he believed himself innocent and yesterdays decision vindicated that belief.

What is the Texas statue for solicitation? It would be interesting how that played into this whole story, I'm assuming that if m9ney changed hands from Watson's camp to the professional massage therapists and there were things done it adds different layers to criminal proceedings.

So we agree... even when you have the #1 overall pick you are more likely to draft a Baker or Cam than an Aikmam.. so better to get a proven commodity. Lol

I'm not sure Cam fits the stinker category though...2 years after the record you mentioned he was league MVP and invthe Super Bowl

He only fits via hindsight... the same as my Aikman comparison

What you have to ask yourself is when they were at those records. What was there market

The Texans made Watson the 2nd highest paid QB in the league and even more l now want a kind ransome for a dented can

Meanwhile Cleveland was trying to figure out if they should pick up the 5th year and are looking into trading for Watson

For me it's always about the damage done due to the salary cap and loss of picks. I'd rather spend our cap space and draft picks building a kick ass squad. I do recognize that a franchise QB is needed to make a deep playoff run. The thing for me is if we draft right and pick up the right pieces via FA we can draft a QB in 23 or 24 and potentially build a SB contender by 24 or 25. It just feels like people want instant gratification in grabbing a QB tomorrow making it difficult to go out and put pieces around the QB. Sure there's ways to manipulate the cap to get it done. But all that does is put you in cap hell a few years down the road. I'm fully ok with average at best years to build a competent lineup. Patience is a virtue.

Then what happens to that perfect lineup if it takes 5, 6, 7 seasons to find the next QB? Free agency and injuries can wreck it.

It’s not about instant gratification, it’s about recognizing how important the QB position is and making that the priority.

But what good is a franchise QB if he's throwing to Juju and McCloud and is on his back 15 times a game with a defense that gives up 35 ppg?

OK. Let's say You go the other way. You get a Qb now , and Luckily He's a pretty good one....So by the time You build Your team around Him.....His contract comes Up , and He's the Highest payed....biggest cap Hit....so there goes the rebuild....out the window....plus if You add Some of these Qbs that people are saying You must sit a year because they are not ready(Like M. Willis)....then You not only don't get 2 build the team, but You just wasted a Year of Him sitting just getting closer 2 His team killing contract.

I think if We just build this year, and get one next ....with the rest toward the team ...We will be ready then. Cam is going 2 get old no matter what. TJ will still be good, and if N. Harris is the real deal ....so will He.
We have 2 do something about that 24th ranked D, and 32nd ranked run D, or the greatest Qb in the world now won't get us a SB. Ask A .Rodgers....R. Wilson, and so on.

Cam may fall off a cliff this season. I think we need to look at a total rebuild of our DL yesterday.
