Watson took the 5th so he didn't answer anything about the case so 1 or 5 with he said she said would still not be a slam dunk. If my Law and Order watching has taught me anything worthwhile I would think this leaves the case open ended so that they can represent to the grand jury again

I’m actually disappointed he caved but maybe he was told by superiors to address it. I knew exactly what he meant but of course twitter mob came at him with their pitchforks overreacting running around with their hair on fire like they always do.

You all are correct that no indictment doesn't mean innocent

But there is this thing we have in THE UNITED STATES where you ARE INNOCENT until proven guilty in a court of law.

That alone makes him innocent until proven otherwise

There are 2 things that I find interesting

1 we all know Watson has a no trade clause so he gets to pick his spot , that alone should lessen a bidding war

2 if the Texans cut or trade him by WED they are only on the hook for 10mill

If he is on the team Wed, 35 become guaranteed and he counts 40 mill against the cap

If they cut or trade him after Wed.... its 51mill in dead cap

The Texans, if they are trying to win this year are really on the clock.

If he still there Wed its cheaper to keep him than more him

If I'm Watson I refuse any trade till after the 16th....I force the Texans to pay me.... if my next team is the Steelers (or whoever) I think to myself. I want to be with Tomlin/Flores. I want the cupboards to be a full as possible when I get there...I want them to have cash to put a good team around me. Im going to make the Texans take what Pitt offers or they can pay me again this yeaR to not play

Best case I refuse to be trade and they cut me and I'm a FA, worst case I get 40 mill and see what the market is next year

I thought the same with Rodgers but everyone said he won't be vindictive to the Pack (Im still waiting on the new deal)

    Watson will to the Texans

Kind of a coincidence that they brought Flores on board and he was the one tied to Watson when he was with Miami.

I think a trade gets done before Wed. If the Steelers want him, I think they have a good chance with Tomlin and Flores here.

With his civil trial looming and Wed deadline, the trade package may not be as large as many are expecting.

The only ones happier than you that Watson isn't coming here are the Ravens, Bengals and Browns.

Raporport was just speaking on NFL network about possible teams interested in Watson and Steelers were not among them. Mentioned Seahawks, Tampa and a couple others.

What I’ve been saying all along. The fact that he wasn’t charged yesterday certainly helps him, but less than half of the women with civil lawsuits have come forward with criminal complaints so far. There’s more to come, at minimum on the civil front, and if any of the allegations are true there’s always the chance that the behavior continues. That’s not something the Steelers want to risk, especially after going through the mud with Ben several years back. The news on the civil cases will continue, and right or wrong, the team that trades for him will have a PR issue.

That was my thought as well. This is a long way from him being proven innocent, which is the narrative Watson and his attorney are trying to push.

Florio has had his moments when he was full of crap, too, but he is absolutely right to rip Schefter. If you are going to be a mouthpiece for Watson's attorney, quote him. Don't just parrot his talking points without indicating where they came from the way Schefter did. Any journalist worth a damn should be pissed at him because crap like that makes all journalists look bad.

Blast, it's far from just the Twitter mob. Schefter allowed himself to be a mouthpiece for Watson's attorney. If he had quoted the guy or indicated that he was paraphrasing, that would be fine. He failed to do either. Not only was what he wrote inaccurate and crappy, but it was also poor journalism.

It was poor journalism but why was it crappy and inaccurate? Watson was spot on in his belief no charges would be brought forth because there was no evidence. That’s why he welcomed the investigation. That’s all Schefter was saying.

It was a very surprising quote from Schefter. Poor choice in words.

So, I guess Ben is guilty then?

OJ got a trial and anyone with a brain knows the trial was terribly botched and that he killed those two people.

Watson hasn’t even gotten the benefit of a trial and yet you all have him guilty. I’m sure he behaved like a creep, so did Ben but I didn’t believe his behavior rose to the level of sexual assault/rape and I’m not sure I believe that about Watson at this stage. Quite frankly some of the accusations I have heard I have a hard time making it work in my head.

It's how America used to work. It's how America is supposed to work.

Unfortunately, in today's cancel culture things don't work that way. The court of public opinion will take away your job, friends, family, and reputation long before the accused gets to trial.

Yea i dont think the Gov, state, or whoever was pressing charges yesterday was trying to hard to find guilt with him.... They had numerous people there that was willing to testify against him, and only allowed 1.... He wont come out looking so clean in the cival lawsuits, and your not gonna convince me this is just a $$$ grab for 22 diff women ...

I heard 9 testified. Which is my point, there is a lot of conflicting information out there, even on what supposedly transpired.

Even if the stuff he is being accused of is true, it pales in comparison to what Ben was accused of, twice.

    Maybe the Bengals.
Browns, and ravens have enough of their own troubles at Qb. Watson has 28 - 26 win loss record....now while some will say its because of the team.....those same people will say Tampa, and Rams won because of getting their Qbs.....Well can't have it both ways. If You win because of them(some for Lamar)....then You lose because of them.

Do I think OJ is innocent? It doesn't matter what I think.... what I know is that a jury of his peers,c who sat through every second of testimony and saw all the evidence first hand found him NOT GUILTY.

The state of California and the United States Government say he is innocent of murder... what you or I think means nothing

Do you think Ray Lewis is innocent? He mostv likely killed 2 people after the Super Bowl in Atlanta. He did a plus deal to get murder dropped to obstruction of justice.... then he played another 13 years and was elected to the HOF

It doesn't matter what we think or feel

On Ben... of of the facts that the prosecuter publicly said when he said he was not going to for charges was this. He said he felt Ben was guilty, but after the rape kit found no evidence he didn't feel he could win the case. Aside from his unessary conjecture over innocent or guilt. They had NO PROOF. When condyctinga rape kit this is all the DNA they need... take ac raisin and did it into 100 pieces. That's what is needed 1/100th of a raisin of Bens DNA... and they could not find it.

Do I think something happened in that bathroom? Doesn't matter what anyone thinks.. Bens on the way to the HOF
