Yup, this is mostly the problem this season. Besides his accuracy, he's playing cautious but then there are plays when his old instincts kick in and flashes a little vintage Ben.

He couldnt light the Colts up, worst pass defense in the league. I have no hope that we will see anymore big games from Ben. They are going to have to win with game manager Ben.

The Haley development is troubling, that can become a big problem, especially if it is extending to other players besides Ben.

It begs the question do they have a problem with it or is it guys who are tight with Ben and feel like he needs his guys to have his back? To me the Haley thing seems like it has always been there because Ben's guy was forced out and Haley forced in, so when he is playing well and the team is winning, its all smiles and love. When the offense is playing poorly and Ben himself is unhappy with his play I think that dissatisfaction rears its ugly head and he deflects from his problem by being mad at Haley. Haley in turn is full of piss and vinegar and gives it right. So it is what it is right now. Reminds me of Faneca's final year when he was upset that Russ Grimm didn't get the job and he hated that idiot they brought in to teach zone blocking. It was all yeah we are good but secretly or not so secretly they were hating the guy.

Their relationship has probably never been good despite what they've said in the past about getting along.

When AB smacked Haleys hand away, he didnt remotely get angry. Compare that to his reaction to Ben on Sunday, big difference.

I dont think its just Bens guys having his back, Haley has rubbed players the wrong way everywhere hes been.

Could be... Bens had quite a bit of time to adjust tho, as has his army of support Per se. I know all players regress it's just O'l father time. But the playbook eating crap as well, makes it hard to finger point. Like I said, things are at fever pitch it seems between QB and OC. Who really has the reigns are anyone's guess. If the bottom of Ben has really fell out, then why has there been no adjustments to aid, mask, etc... Been implemented? Head scratcher without being a fly on the wall for sure.

Haley is at a disadvantage within that train of thought... Singletary's old school but his new school athletes can't handle old school get in their face mentality. I'm sure regardless of whether Haley is a dick Or not that the kids on his team can't handle an ass chewing... Just the way the world turns nowadays

Very complicated. Say Ben retires and we get Smith and Smith loves Haley`s offense?

    Just saying.

First off, why is ownership deciding who the coordinators should be? What's the point of having a coach if you don't trust him? Secondly, Haley will likely be here next season where Ben is retiring.

I'm sure smith would love Haleys O... The part of it that has disappeared and I don't know why.

MB got a week off for saying he was better than JuJu. Tomlin should bench Haley for a game for cussing at Ben. No double standards.

Exactly! If I were the OC for the Steelers there are times I'd be yelling at Ben too! Who on this board HASN'T yelled at Ben (through their TV) after a boneheaded decision or bad interception. I would imagine that Ben does to Haley at times what Bradshaw did to Noll. Doesn't mean the professional relationship between the two can't be successful together. Not particularly happy with the offensive performance but that has as much to do with Ben's deterioration in performance and the narcissistic drama by a couple of their key performers as anything Haley is doing. Truth is, Haley and the players ALL need to pick it up if we have any hope of hoisting number 7 in February!

Haley has always verbally confronted players during games, i'm surprised that a player hasnt punched him out yet, heres Anquan Boldin blowing up on the sideline at him:

Quite frankly, this team needs some fire on the sideline.

Put this in perspective, the team called a time out to call a play for a 2 point conversion...... and also got a delay of game after the time out..... I was yelling at the TV too..... STFU and run the damn play.

I miss some of those days with Cowher stomping up and down the field throwing spit all over the place. Someone needs to light a fire under these primadonna players.

Ben hasnt regressed, he just wont take a hit this year to complete a pass, just the slightest pressure in the pocket and he lets it fly, high or low, a pick is OK as long as he doesnt get touched, NFL channel broke down his erratic play yesterday, yeah he isnt the ben who would wait the last second to make a play like the other ben would they said this started happening last year.........

Really Jack? You'd let someone tell you to STFU?

And what happened to keeping it in the locker room crowd? Now everyone knows there is a problem. Haleys little temper tantrum has led to players wanting him off the field. How is this good for the team?

When I worked in a business-casual professional office? No.

If I worked in an ultra-competitive, highly aggressive, high-testosterone environment where cussing was commonplace? Yes.

Yeah, it seemed pretty clear what Haley said, that's why I threw in the 'FWIW'.

Doesn't it work both ways then? Wouldn't that ultra competitive, highly aggressive, high testosterone athlete want to take the little ****s head off?

I'm not taking it in any environment and doesn't sound like the players are ok with it either considering they don't want him around.

Who are these players? I don't put any faith in an article quoting "unnamed" players. So what if Haley doesn't coddle Ben the way BA used to. He's gotten more out of Ben the last 3 years than BA ever could have. I'm not sure Ben would still be playing had BA remained the OC. Haley has plenty of warts and sometimes personalities don't mesh, but true professionals put petty disagreements and hurt feelings behind them for the good of the team. I hope the Steelers can find a way to do that.

Do you remember Brady and O'Brien going at it a few years ago? Maybe it would be good if Ben would get in Haley's face and have it out with him. Ben seems like a guy who'd rather be somewhat passive-aggressive though rather than confronting someone head on. I can tell you this, if someone told me to STFU I'd be back in their face and I'd love to see Ben do to Haley what Brady did to O'Brien a few years back. They had it out, got it over with, cleared the air and let that be water under the bridge. To me, THAT'S what needs to happen! Get in Haley's face and tell him exactly how you feel. I think Haley may gain a new found respect for Ben if that were to happen. Ben reminds me of a petulant child at times and he needs to grow up and not be afraid of confrontation. Brady wasn't. Peyton wasn't. Don't go to the media and don't go on your radio show and air your grievances there. Go to the source!

Thats fair. We dont know what kind of confrontations Ben and Haley have behind closed doors, if any but your assessment of Ben sounds like it might be accurate.
