Do we know anymore now, about this team, then we did before training camp? We're going into our last game, and still a bunch of questions ... all over the place.

I don't think it's any different defva than any other off-season/pre-season. We won't know until it counts, who's a star and who's a dud. Even then it can take a few years for players to develop - Ben got thrown in the fire early and helped lead them to their best record ever in 2004 as a rookie. It took Troy, Harrison, AB a few years to shine. Always the biggest question other than QB is how do they perform as a "team" rather than just individuals? What is the chemistry? How do they handle adversity - injuries, gut wrenching losses, blowouts, poor clock management (LOL). So far in pre-season we've seen plenty to be quite optimistic about (most of us that is) and plenty to make us shake in our boots. Unless they're coming off of a SB win where we worry like crazy about SB "hangover", this is just like all other pre-season's I've been cognoscente of and we're talking over 5 decades. Have to say though it sure looks much brighter now than those early days before the Dynasty.

We know a little more about some individual players but overall, no, we don't know a lot more about the team than we did before training camp. Preseason is mostly meaningless. Let's just hope we stay relatively healthy. Do that and you've had a great preseason.

Here's what I know. Edmunds has a knack of being around the ball. That is a good sign. Vince Williams seems to have gone from 4th gear to 5, which is huge considering they were coming into this year with the worst MLB core in decades.

    Bud Dupree is a bust.

Steelers offense will be one of the best if not the best in the NFL.

Steelers will need at least an average defense to have a shot at the title. They will also need a couple breaks in the playoffs considering the coaching is coming into this season at a C level at the moment.

Welcome to the NFL. Most teams have a lot of “ifs”. That’s the price of having a salary cap.

I think there are actually a lot of sure things on our team right now tho.... we have the entirely same offense as last year minus Marty (add Washington). Our D is the same minus Shazier and Mitchell (add Bostic and Burnett).

ILB depth is terrifyingly thin and we have a lot of young guys as depth in the secondary. Injuries could really derail our defense. But we seem to be pretty deep at most positions on offense.

One day there are 90, next day 53. That’s at least 47 questions every year for every team. Plus, what vet gets cut from another team?

Personally, I thought it was better for both sides when there were two cut down days,

Get healthy and stay healthy. That will go a long way.

Foster, McDonald, AB, Bell have not practiced much if at all.

Cleveland will be hungry at home to open the season. We will get a chance to see what we have on this defense and a chance to see how rusty this offense is against a good defense early. Yes Cleveland will have a good defense. Their will present problems to our defense. This will be no cake walk. We need a good showing from the wounded, rusty group on offense. I hope they are up to the task.

Dupree is not a bust. He is not to this point everything we had hoped but he is a solid OLBer and if he is not brought back next year he will have a job somewhere else in the NFL.

Also, if our coaching staff gets a C then the NFL is experiencing some serious grade deflation. They might not be perfect but they are at the very least above average.

I hope the Steelers win a close one in Cleveland. I have $1,000.00 on the Browns to win with 8.5 points.

I don't see us beating Cleveland. This is their Superbowl game early and we are still screwing around with knuckleheads like Bell who will not be in top form (initially) like last year. We still have not played with all of our starters (some have yet to put a helmet on) and with our usual game preparation by the coaching staff, damn. Hoping for the best.

Defense stops the run game & the Stains will be 0-1.
Big Ben has a better record in Cleveland than anybody on their roster right now I believe.
Hell, Landry Jones has won more games than the Stains going back two years now. Cleveland is at least a year away from making waves if they don't shoot themselves in the foot imo.

After last game, we know this D could be on level with the '85 Bears. I'd say that is knowing something.

Actually no there are plenty of people making their final roster projections based on what we've seen.

If Bell is rusty, give the runs to Conner. Don't do him any favors for not being in football shape to start the season. Let's hope McDonald can stay healthy for a game. << a bit sarcastic but the guy's career has been riddled with injuries.

You know, if my son's little league team played the Steelers in two weeks it would be their Superbowl too. And just like the Browns, they too would be outclassed and outplayed because of a great disparity in talent.
    Steelers win going away, 32 - 13

The one where I see him dropping into coverage and doing so really well, playing the run fine, and getting some pressure. I'm disappointed mostly in that his only pass rush move seems to be speed. If he could diversify his pass rushing to get more consistent pressure he's be an excellent LBer. As it is he is fine, just not a game changer. As I said, I expect him to have a job in the league next year. He's not a bust.
