I'm fairly certain you can't just cut an injured player. You either have to stash him somewhere or make an injury settlement. As to what the settlement value is?

it was reported during a break at camp the trainer squeezed the gatorade bottle giving golson a drink and it bruised the back of his throat and dislocated his tounge forcing the steelers to put him on IR.

Golson may benefit from cuts being restructured. He might have been gone during the first set of cuts the old way.

Now with it all being done in one shot, he still has a chance to show something.

Is there any update on this?

It's not entirely surprising that a guy who's been off the field for this long tweaks something when the pace steps up. I guess it's about whether he can get back at all, or if the hamstring is done.

I don't care I might be alone but I'm still holding out hope....by some accounts he was really looking like he can play....just a lot of bad luck.

I hate to see people piling up on a guy for getting injured (although it seems like this incident is really minor). This guy has dedicated his life to playing this game as his job and he's gotten 2 years wiped out by injuries. That's miserable. I couldn't even imagine the frustration he's feeling right now.

Hopefully for his sake it's just a practice or two. He won't be the only one to get nicked up during camp. He will get his shots to impress... it's all about making your chances count.

Gregg LLoyd missed his first 2 seasons, I cross my fingers for Golson. We need talent at that position,

and the safety position are critical for our quest for a Superbowl.

"Give him his usual bed," they said.

Apparently no news on the test results for Golsen or Conner as per today. From the sounds of it, it seems they are expecting him to return, so fingers crossed....

I saw on twitter that it was actually still warm. Not sure if that's true though. I generally only believe every word of a tweet if CNN tweets it.

hilton looked as advertised. i said there was a lot of buzz around him, but he may have just removed his former team mate from this team. at least if he keeps it up. interesting about his safety play in college too. can he fill in as a FS if needed here too. you know the more you can do. nice on ST's too. looks like a player. thats why i like these UDFA's. we seem to do well in finding good ones here.

I'm not counting Golson when it comes to numbers.

It's a shame because after 3 years, we don't even know if he would have been good or bad. Too much competition at CB.

I saw a stat that said in 3 years he has participated in only 7 practices and finished only5! Un-freakin'-real!

And so far, he has been paid $2.2 MM with $800K coming this year. Not a bad gig.

He could qualify for an NFL pension while having spent his whole NFL career on the injured list.

He has never ever participated in any type of game for us, rarely ever practice with the team, since day 1 he is 100% worthless. Guaranteed he will not make the roster, he should consider playing a non-contact sport like golf....

Well I'm probably the only one left in his corner....except for maybe his Mom. I still feel based on his tape which is getting kinda dusty and his skill set he could help this team at a position that is still a need. I do have to admit though every time I see this post title I do say to myself...."wait ,what he's already injured...he got injured again? :smiley1:... I know his chances are rapidly dwindling but I just really hope to get a chance to see what he can do...id really hate to close the chapter on a book that was never opened...

He's had unfortunate luck since being drafted. I don't believe he had an injury history in college. Not sure why fans have contempt for players that get injured. Its a hell of a lot bigger deal to him than it is to you, guy had a golden opportunity and had the rug pulled out from under him.

I still have faith in his skills, just not his ability to beat this injury bug. Its too bad, had a lot of promise. Still rooting for him though.

Golson is a prime candidate to be put on I/R and then be brought back, depending on the injury situation and performance of the other cornerbacks. No reason to part ways with him yet, especially because there is no significant financial incentive to do so.

They did that last year, I believe. Fool me once,....

Plus, can you bring a guy back who has never been here?
