Season opener:Lions vs Chiefs

Well well.

It takes some luck too.

 

Pick 6 came out of nowhere....Huge drop by the chiefs WR

 

Nice one Brian. Got some speed on him.

 

It was the good call to accept the penalty.....No way the chiefs would punt on fourth and less one yards in the lions territory

 

The Lions got 2 outstanding defensive players in this years draft. Jack Campbell and Brian Branch.

 

We passed on Branch for Porter, we may regret it

 

It wasn't a good call, you never give Mahomes another chance on 3rd down and sure enough he rips them for 34 yards.

 

The knock on Branch was his speed. On that pick 6 he looked like he was shot out of a cannon.

 

My point is that they would go on fourth down and 1...I prefer to be on 3rd down and 17 that to be on fourth down and 1 if you are on defense

 

Facing 99% of the QB's in the league that is correct. Watching Mahomes through the years there was no doubt he was picking up the first down.

 

Tough call on Cam Sutton. Definitely contact but seemed like he was playing the ball.

 

Big penalty against Cam Sutton. It looked like he had time to bat the ball away instead of running into the receiver.

 

The Lions offense is just awful so far in this game....They did not play in the preseason......

 

I am lost, I thought Defensive holding was an automatic 1st down, so why decline it?

Instead they accepted the play, I think 8 yards, and it was 2nd down.

 

Better to be on second down and 2 in a better field position that to be first down and 10 in a worst field position.....A defensive holding is only a 5 yards penalty

 

I expect the Chiefs to take a step back this season, especially if Chris Jones sits out half of the season.

 

Ballgame. Gutsy call by Campbell but it didn't work.

 

The chiefs defense have been great tonight....But their receiver on offense have been just brutal

 

The Chiefs receivers are awful, especially Toney dropping 3 passes including the pick 6.

 

Some odd decisions this game.
