What your saying does make sense. While I believe Fautanu and Rodgers of course are linch pins to the success of the offense, I put Wilson and Thornhill in there more form the perspective of the weakest link on each unit. Your only as strong as your weakest link. We pretty much know what AR is gong to do and Fautanu I believe will be really good based on his camp so far and how high the were on him last year going into the season

Revisiting your question about what I would’ve done differently.
First and foremost I wouldn’t have listened to my qb , even though he is a future Hall of Famer.
Would’ve drafted qb starting in 2019-2020.
I realize its hit or miss most of the time. They tried with KFP, not a big fan , but he was thrown in the fire way way too soon. Would’ve he developed if he sat and learned for 2 years? Don’t know.
My generation isn’t used to what Steelers organization is currently doing, getting old retreads. I also realize times have changed as a whole.
This right now attitude isn’t very successful if you look across the sports world.

I'd say most important issue is Arthur Smith blending and bending to accomodate Rodgers.

If he is stubborn and Rodgers gets frustrated, season over.

Let Rodgers audible, do what he does, call out bad plays and favorites plays and Smith changes the weight of those in playcalling.

If Rodgers wants to sling it downfield, add more downfield plays. If he likes 6-8 yard TE passes more now, let him do that. Whatever works.

If Haley/Roethlisberger can work... and it worked very well.... Smith/Rodgers can work, too. Popcorn needs to stay the hell out of the way.

Haley had a bad reputation for being prickly and difficult to work with before his time with Steelers, HC of Chiefs, etc. Smith is the opposite. Players seem to like him.

I don’t believe it is even remotely a “right now” attitude

On the contrary Omar is building for the future

He is just simultaneously trying to be competitive now

Rodgers is a good quarterback on a cheap contract
