Always stupid to tank. Once you tank, you'll lose players wanting to play for you. Also a lot of times you see we have done really good with late first round picks vs what went ahead of us.

 

Just hoping for competitive games they will win one we think they should lose but probably a 4 win team

 

The 1st sign that it might be a losing season will be if they don't activate the kid this week, next will be if the status quo remains the same and the final will be if TJ isn't taken off IR this week either before the Philly game or after.

 

Gotta win in Philly now next week and get to 3-5 at the bye. I said they had to do that to stay in the division race and it didn’t matter how they got there. You fall to 2-6 and fall 3-4 games back of both the Ravens and Bengals that’s just gonna be too hard to make up.

 

Define what you mean by “Over”?

Their chance for winning the SB was over before the season started.
Their chance of making the playoffs was over after the losses to NE and NYJ.
Their chance at a non losing season is all but over, they’ll have to 7-3 the rest of the way for that.
So what to do? You don’t tank. You play Pickett and give him experience. Let the Recievers get familiar with him. You figure out which of your young OL is worth keeping. You feature Pickens and see where his ceiling is, Austin too, if he’s ready. Decide if you want to keep Bush, Edmunds. See what Warren is. See what Leal and Loudermilk are. If guys aren’t in your future plans, sit ‘em. Play the future. I don’t see this as tanking. But instead , ending the season knowing more about your talent than you do know.

 

Steelers don’t have to tank they just are not any good especially offensively. The real question will be if Kenny Pickket doesn’t get better by years end and we have a top 3 pick what do we do??

Season isn’t over yet but the margin of error for the Steelers to continue to keep losing games every week is getting smaller and smaller and a loss to Philly next Sunday which would drop them to 2-6 in what could possibly put them 3 games behind both the Bengals and Ravens going into the bye might be the final nail in the coffin. They have to stay within at worst 2 games of both the Ravens and Bengals at least in my opinion if they wanna have any hope of still having a chance to still compete in this mediocre division and play meaningful games in November and around Thanksgiving because right now they are in serious danger of that not happening.

I'm not upset in the least. They need higher draft selections. They have to upgrade in several areas.

 

Even if by some miracle, Steelers won 90% of their remaining games.... they would enter the playoffs as a 6 or 7 seed. And guess who they would play? Bills or Chiefs.

 

It was over the second Watt got injured. They’re just playing to hopefully progress Pickett and get a decent pick at this point.

 

Over? I am really surprised at these comments. We are replacing a HOF quarterback. There will be some growing pains with that. I guess I thought that was just understood. I want to see progression with Kenny this season. I was never, ever expecting playoffs or a Super Bowl.
