You know I love ya TTF, but I don't know what you have against "necroposting", as you've called it. You said it was a bad idea for a number of reasons, but I can't really think of any. Unless people do it all the time just to be dicks... I can see how it could be abused, but you could say that about anything.

I think there are plenty of occasions where it makes perfect sense. You say, "Why bump an old thread to make this announcement?" I say, "Why start a new thread when there's another one with a perfect title and months-old theories and claptrap right there for us to review and laugh about?" By bumping this old thread, darcrav has said much more than the one "He's starting" sentence. (S)he said, "Look at all the cluelessness that was rampant just a few months ago." Some saying he can start, some saying he's done, everyone assuming that our draft would indicate his health status (boy, was THAT wrong). None of us knew anything, including the Steelers themselves. Now he's starting! Including the past brings more gravity to the present, in my opinion.

Plus, as long as there's that little icon that takes you to the last read post, so you don't have to sift through to find the most recent stuff (like the old site), it's easy to get to where you want to be. Plus there are dates on the thread on the board, and on every post as well.

Also, even if it lacks a specific purpose like this one, it still seems pretty harmless to me. I've been "guilty" of looking through old, old threads and posting on something I originally missed. I'm aware it's kind of silly to be a year late to a debate, but I don't mind being silly. I guess it feels kind of, "If you don't want to read it, don't read it" to me.

    As for Spence, :towel:!

We all feel differently about Tomlin and his knack for quotes, but I think this was among his best:

[In response to Keith Butler saying it would be "miraculous if Spence comes back"]

    well gee snack,
    thanks I think.

I would never necropost just to show up someone or make them look bad or to show how right I was

I wouldn't be like Blast Furnace and necropost Bell threads to prove how much I pimped him predraft, preschool, ......;)

I hope Spence does well, It's a good story. So far though, my observation is that he has difficulty making open field tackles.

Spence will be fine. Moats will be fine. If the team doesn't take the day off, we'll have another happy day come Sunday.

no injuries would be nice as well

He looked a lot better after he whiffed on a few pass protections. He stepped up and made some hits!

First half he looked suspect. The second half he made some nice plays imo.
