Yeah I'm still a fan of him as long as he is playing for the black and gold but, lets look at the past 10 superbowl winners and their leading rusher. # is the rank compared to the league.

Since Bell has been with us I will post our rank in rushing, along with points per game we ranked.
2013- 27, 16th
2014- 16, 7th
2015- 16, 4th
2016- 14, 10th
2017- 20, 8th

So as you can see, leading rushers are great for fantasy but are not necessary for winning a championship. Even with him we did not produce to our potential(verdict is out if it's Haley's fault). glad he turned the offer down, use that cash to fix the D and win a ring.

 

Nothing special about Bells last years performance, 321 carries 1291 yards 9 TDs, and his receiving only averaged 7 yards, to say he is the greatest is a stretch in my opinion compared to some of the hall of fame backs like Dickerson and emmit smith for example.......

 

It takes a whole team to win it not 1 player.

 

It's like having one of these offensive/Norris Candidate defensemen of late. Letang, Hedman, Karlsson, PK, Burns, etc. Great for the regular season but useless in the playoffs.

 

I just think it is so easy in the draft to find a Fournette or Kareem Hunt.

I won't be sad to see him go. His suspensions have left a really sour taste in my mouth. What ever your thoughts are on weed aside, he willingly and knowingly hurt his team.
