Scouting

I have posted this before and I will say this again, that the person or persons in charge of recruiting and scouting for our DB's should be fired if not 3 years prior. Somebody please tell me the number of DB's we have selected in the draft or FA and how many have worked out since 2002? I've been told in the past we as a team don't use shutdown CB's but rather guys that can play containment D and tackle? Well, that doesn't seem to be working out at this point. IKE is all we have and he is bad this year. Lewis is a PS player that would be better in a nickel / dime role. Both Allen's are still unproven and I can't decide on how they will turn out. Overall go back and look at all the players that have been complete flops at the position and tell me how an NFL organization such as the Steelers can not find a solid group of DB's over the years? How can a team BOMB these picks is beyond me and I have no explanation to help. Bottom line the scouts don't seem to be getting it done...

 

The last super star the steelers had at corner was Woodson. The steelers traditionally rely on great pass rushers with mediocre corners. That's been their stable for years. Now without those pass rushers, the corners are getting exposed. Woodley and Harrison can't stay on the field together and we are getting beat. We need to invest in a top tier corner in this coming draft or a pass rusher opposite Woodley.
