I would consider spending anything more than #3 WR money on Sanders getting poorer.

Boy I am not sure the National media
is considering them poor in this FA period.
They basically replaced a very replaceable WR
with another that will catch 80 passes cheaper.
Hell I am an old man and I could catch 80 from
    Peyton.

2 years ago Julius and Welker were not there. It was just Decker and Demaryius. 3 years ago Decker was putting up good numbers with Kyle Orton throwing the ball. He fell off with Tebow throwing, especially when Demaryius finally got healthy and started playing, but that's not really his fault.

Decker is a good WR and didn't always have Julius and Welker around him. I am never fooled by anyone's numbers, I actually watch games. I have seen almost every game Decker has played over the last 2 years and he's a good receiver, definitely a borderline #1. He's better than a lot of other teams #1 WR's.

I'm sure GB stayed up nights wondering how they would ever stop Manny Sanders and his 28 recs - 376 yards - 2 tds

    He's no Nate Washington.

Interesting...wonder how much is guaranteed though....while it may sound like a chunk of change...if its only 3-5 mil guaranteed its not that bad of a deal...and will make him earn the rest...if not they cut him eventually.

Thats not a terrible amount...he'll be Deckers "replacement" and Decker got a big contract from NY...so this is cheap compared to what they'd have to pay to keep Decker. And only around 6 mil guaranteed? Not terrible....but more than the Steelers would have probably paid.

Denver is putting together a dream team, Manning probably only has 2 years left in him. Come on Steelers step your game up it's looking like it will be Broncos vs Patriots again in the AFC championsip game.

Don't get your hopes up. It wouldn't surprise me at all if we're looking at a top 10 pick in 2015.

For everyone saying they overpaid... That could be true if he gets injured again. But he is a good, quick, fast receiver, and a very good blocker, and he will be WAY better with Peyton Manning than he was with us. They will get far more out of him than we ever could. They still might have overpaid, but it's unfair to compare what we should pay to what they should pay, since they have so much more use for him than us. Either way, who cares? Between him and Ziggy, this should help us overcome Mitchell's contract to get a comp pick next year.

Yeah, I watch games too, hes no number 1 and that's what he will be as of now with the Jets. See how he does when he has to fill that roll.

Don't look now. But he'll have about 8 or 9 td's, 800 yds and someone will be saying here that "we should have signed him", based on his production.
As someone stated before, any average receiver looks good with Manning.

By the way, does this signing counts towards 2015 compensatory picks?
If so, it's good to know he went to Denver under Manning's offense!

NY Jets paying Erik Decker 37 mill now that is what you call over paying. Manny Sanders will more than make his salary justified in Denver barring injury with Peyton Manning
@the helm he will avg 80 catches easily the years Peyton plays.

No TTF, I am talking about how Denver has basically wrapped up the FA signing period
league wide, Hell NE has now done some very good work,It looks like these 2 teams
are actually trying to win something.

Manny Sanders' numbers will dwarf Erick Decker's numbers this year. Sanders will have arguably the greatest QB in history throwing to him and Decker will have Geno Smith. Decker's motivation for signing with the NEW YORK Jets had nothing to do with football and everything to do with getting him more exposure.

Paper champions. Most teams that go balls to the wall like this in free agency do not end up with a SB ring.
