    1. Arthur Brown, LB, Kansas St
With Spence and Rolle, it seems lately that the FO is looking at athletic 4-3 guys to try to plug in next to Timmons. Not a bad idea considering how much pass defense is needed from these guys now. Tomlin and Colbert were apparently at the K.St pro day and wined and dined Brown afterwards. He's a very fast, sideline to sideline type linebacker. He's also said to love the game and have an incredible work ethic. I think we could trade down and grab him, but something tells me Tomlin's going to love this kid and wouldn't mind nabbing him at 17.

    2. Quinton Patton, WR, Louisiana Tech
He reminds me of Hines Ward and he comes from the same school as Terry Bradshaw. What more could you want?! Seriously though, Patton is probably the anti-Mike Wallace. I didn't hate Wallace but a lot of people here complained about his lack of aggressiveness when the ball is in the air. Patton is a scrapper, runs good routes, has good hands. He's not overly big or fast, but he's smart and has guts. I would like to see him put on some weight. One thing that shocked me when I saw Hines in person was how thick he was, I think patton needs that to hold up since he'll make his name over the middle.

    3. Marcus Lattimore, RB, South Carolina
If the Steelers sign Ahmad Bradshaw to something like a 2 year deal, this would be the perfect pick for them. It would get them a great RB, and give him time to ease into the offense. With his strong pro day performance though, I'm starting to think he'll shoot up draft boards. I'd have no qualms with spending a 3rd on him. He reminds me a lot of Arian Foster in that he doesn't have any one great physical asset (he doesn't have CJ speed, he doesn't have Peterson power, he doesn't have McCoy's moves) but he does all of those things well and what Steelers fans will like is he has good vision and once he decides to go, he goes. He's a PERFECT fit in a ZBS. I'm interested to see how his draft stock rises after the pro day.

    4. TJ McDonald, S, USC
McDonald needs some work mentally. He has a lot of the physical skills you want to see but can take bad angles or bite on play action fakes too easily. That's the sort of things that can be taught though. He could back up either safety spot which is nice consider our lack of depth there.

    5. Malliciah Goodman, OLB, Clemson
Goodman's shown upside as a pass rusher but will have to improve against the run if he wants to make it in our scheme. He's similar to some late guy we've taken like Chris Carter. He probably won't see the field much at first unless he can show he's an asset on special teams.

    6. Brandon McGee, CB, Miami
Can never have too much CB depth. McGee will push Curtis Brown and DVD in training camp. He's a guy that's a hard worker, but needs to get more consistent.

    6. Oday Aboushi, OT, Virginia
An athletic tackle that falls because he got pushed around by power DL during the senior bowl. He's definitely better against speed rushers in the pass blocking game, but it looks like this is how our OL is going.

    7. Branden Kaufman, WR, Eastern Washington
Whoever we pick here likely doesn't make the team anyway, but could be someone that makes it a couple years down the road when guys like Plax and Cotch will be gone. Kaufman has dominated bad competition, and is a big lanky receiver at 6'4" Worth taking a flier on.

Seems like a reach... Perhaps they are looking at him because they are interested for round 2.

I know that's going to be the general consensus, but the more I watch of this kid, the more I like him. I think he doesn't get past the 20-30 range. His instincts and closing speed are great. At this point I'm starting to like him better than any ILB other than Ogletree (talking in terms of pure ability, with character issues aside).

Watch his tape against Baylor (he's #4 MLB), who was one of the best offenses in the country at the time, and the way he held RG3 in check. He had a pick in the game which wasn't all that impressive but I loved the play after it at about 4:20 in the video. You can see the ease that Brown has in beating RG3 to the corner on a roll out.

You gotta like a guy that can take over a game against serious competition.

That's my thinking Mac. Everyone generally agreed that Pete Carrol had lost his mind last year taking Bruce Irvin and Bobby Wager 1 and 2, and now Seattle had easily the best draft of any team (so far) last year.

i loved the irvin pick. i was big on him last year, but in the 2nd. he will only get better and you can't teach speed. if they progress, then they are a good pick. we don't need value right now on this team, we need playmakers. thats what pete went for. they let him build the team and he's gotten results.

Brown doesn't look all that impressive to me. He can run, but he missed several tackles on that tape. He is a good blitzer though.

i like the tape on the guy the steelers are high on at UAB. burrdette. small but he will take on a blocker and still make the tackle. he looks like a stud but just a short guy. more of a rolle and spence. brown fits that role too. they like football smart guys.

I live in Washington and although Bruce Irvin can rush the passer, he doesn't like to take on the run. I'm glad he doesn't play for the Steelers. GO STEELERS!

Yes- I watch video and Have watched more than a few K state games this year and although they talk about him, I never really have seen why. He is pretty average and a poor tackler.

What I seen is a guy that missed several tackles when he had the runner stopped in the whole. And we are talking number 1 pick?
