I will say his play was one of the reasons, but not the big reason. The running game could not run inside, outside, up the gut, or from any set. The woes go far from one individual, the combination of lack of talent and performance, play scheme which constantly had the D staffing 8 in the box, and totally stupid play calling have been the reason we sucked.

True as that may be, that's not my point. I like the guy. I hate the Ravens. The two should never join forces. I don't care how much he's regressed. I don't care whether or not he can help them. I just don't want to see the guy wearing purple.

Part of the reason, but not a big one. Al had nothing to do with the entire right side of the line getting pushed 3 yards into the backfield on most rushing plays. He didn't step on Pouncey's snapping hand and airmail the ball over Ben's head. He was 1/5 of the problem, no more, no less.

Surprised? Wait, I thought we, the Steelers Fans, can sign anyone and turn them into future HOF'ers, especially former 1st round picks.

It is a bit different of a run heavy Offense.. The option can be blocked very weird. The first thing they do is dive the RB in the A gaps and may read or block the Guards. The next is the pull and the QB reads the DE/OLB the tackle may be asked to block them or normally he just lets him go and tries to wall off a LB if you catch the DE/LB on crash calls the OT could be asked to pivot out and lead on a CB/Safety ..A QB lead option so to speak making the tackle the lead blocker..The Rats ran that play on us like 5 times in a row 1 game..

My point is even though it is a run heavy O the running QB changes what is required of the OL in a big way .. AV may still be good in space and not so good straight up ...

Reading the Ravens are going to sign Big Al AFTER the draft...

Thus keeping us from getting a compensatory pick...Pricks!

More important is they get 2 1st round picks and most definitely will take a player Pittsburgh was hoping to get in the 2nd.

The Ravens suck, they have always sucked, they will always continue to suck, and those are the only good things I can think of about the Rats. And yes, they are pricks too! And we swept them last year.

Meh, AV is a good guy, nice story but this won’t bother me.

Woodson going to the Rats, now that sucked.

I just saw a story that has B'more putting Villanueva at right tackle? Doesn't he play on the left side?

F*ck the Ravens getting another 1st rounder. Who can we get rid of for a 1st rounder? Ebron? :hehehe:

I do not get the reasoning for these thoughts. The Ravens are going to pick who they think will benefit their team as the Chiefs would have done. Picking at 32 is really not going to impact any player that will be there when the Steelers pick 24 picks later. What the Ravens have done (last year and now) is amass a lot of picks, especially in the key rounds, that is how you build and keep a top level team with depth.

WHy play around, just put 300 pounders as your WR's and try to steam roll down the field on every play.

They are also protecting the compensatory picks they are due to receive.

I wonder if they will sign Al if they take a tackle in the first round.

I would think at this point, if no one offers AV starting money he should just wait until camp. Then when some starter at LT goes down his value goes up.
