I read this little blurb on ESPN. Dont know if anyone else read it, but its interesting:

At least Holmes took some responsibility for last season's turmoil, saying he needs to do a better job of measuring his words with the media. He was publicly critical of quarterback Mark Sanchez and the offensive line, fueling the divisiveness in the locker room. Holmes said he needs to learn "how to hold my tongue and be more critical of myself instead of others." He also seemed to be longing for his days with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who traded him after the 2009 season. "What we had in Pittsburgh was a net family, guys who stuck together, who believed in one other," he said. "No matter what was said in the media, it never affected nobody in our locker room, no matter who said what.\

And TTF, I don't know if this topic belongs on "Steelers Talk" or not.

I'm pretty sure it's quite obvious Holmes isn't and has never been happy to be a Jet

To quote whatever 80's glam rock song that was, 'you don't know what you got, til it's gone'.

It's fine with me, BobbyBiz. I don't care for splitting hairs over that kind of stuff. He's a former player, you've got his name in the title...if someone doesn't want to read about him they can skip over it. :)

I'm gonna go with Cinderella on the glam rock song......... Do I win anything?

As for Plex. I'm sure playing in NYC is much more brutal then playing with the Steelers.

Take responsibility is a big bunch of BS. One of my guys said one day when I was a Gunny, Gunny, I know I did wrong and I take full responsibility. At which point I knocked him on his ass. Then said I take full responsibility means, ok you caught me.PLEASE DON'T MAKE ME PAY FOR IT. He never tried that on me again

If only Holmes had understood how lucky he was to be be here while he was here, maybe he would have acted like he was a part of that team and acted like a professional. I wonder if anyone else we are upset about will one day (or already is) regretting his recent actions? (Sorry, I am like many of you, just frustrated with #17!)

Can we take him back for a 7th rounder and give him an incentive based contract? :)

It's funny because it just goes to show how a locker room and straighten a guy out. Yes Santonio had issues here, I realize that but since he's been with the Jets (probably the worst locker room in the NFL), he's called out his QB, called out his OL, and is constantly making statements in the media that he shouldn't.

I will always love 'Tone for making in my (biased) opinion the best catch of all time. When he was sitting in the corner of the endzone hugging the ball it was such an amazing image for me, he didn't run around and all that he just looked so humbled.

Has anyone else ever wondered if we would have traded him if Ben hadn't gotten in trouble?

Ha! Ha! He behaved while he was in Pittsburgh because he knew he'd have to answer to Silverback if he did something stupid!

There are no leaders in that Jets locker room. Sure Bart Scott is there, but he learned to just be cocky from Ray Lewis during his time in Baltimore rather than really leading a team.

I still would take Holmes back, but right now, if Wallace stay, we have a lot of young guys to be excited about.
