Player #1 was a slugging outfielder for the Pirates from the early 70s to the early 80s. He wore the same uniform number as Player#2, who was a running back for the Steelers a generation later. And they also shared the same last name. Can you guess who they are?

Ok. Player 1 was known for being a talented jagoff. Player 2 was known for his speed.

A decade or 2 early, but I don't recall the Steelers having a RB named Bonds.

Not impressed;) I got it as soon as I saw thread but didn't see it until this morning.

Dave Parker popped in my mind right away and it didn't take long to get to Willie.

Less we forget the Steelers HC from 1957-1964 was none other than Raymond Klein "Buddy" Parker. They had a little over a .500 record during his tenure during the Bobby Layne, Ernie Stautner, John Henry Johnson, Buddy Dial and Big Daddy days but he did coach 2 NFL champs in the early 50's with the Lions and was recently elected to the NFL HOF.

Yeah, I knew it as soon as I saw the question. Only thing that gave me pause was I didn't remember Dave Parker's jersey number.

A reporter I used to work with told me a great Dave Parker story, but sadly, not one I can share.
