Sam Darnold the next Steelers QB?

    I keep seeing this assumption but Tannehill had success under Gase until he got hurt.

    While Tannehill had some marginal success with Gase, his QB rating was a slight improvement. His INT % those 2 years were the highest he has had.

    Tannehill is better than i gave him credit for in past years. Darnold is no franchise qb imo, Mason might be just as good possibly better. Darnold has more mobility but what has he done with it? My vote is a resounding no on acquiring him other than off the trash heap.

    Gase is a horrible coach. Watch how good their TE Herndon will be once Gase is out of there.

    I thought Darnold would be a good QB coming out, I have no idea if he will be successful going forward but playing under Gase definitely isn’t maximizing his potential.

    Vince Williams was a good qb coming out.
    Ryan Leaf was thought to be better than Peyton.
    Mariota, Winston, etc.

    The Steeler will never have a QB on the roster that could challenge Ben for the starters spot. Ben's ego wont allow it. Whats the point of a backup on this team ? Unless Ben cant make it to the field he plays, terrible or not. Tomlin doesn't have the balls to bench Ben.
