Teams now know how to outsmart the salary cap with voided years contract. One of the reasons the Eagles are so good and they'll be able to keep their core together for so long...

Maybe one day they'll pay the price for 1-2 seasons, but it probably won't be before 2030. So their window is wide open despite a QB with a $50 million contract and two receivers earning over $25 million per year,RB with 20 millions, plus a loaded o-line and defense!

The key to all this is having an owner who wants to win at all costs.

Your post is legitimate, but the other dynamic is how much the CAP has gone up, and the Eagles in (particular), draft and develop well enough that moving on from players in the system is easier. Those void years will hit, if the CAP keeps going up and the system they use keeps generating home grown players they can and likely will be competitive. The owners can try to tweak the system, but with the amount of money coming in it's hard to see them really giving a crap.
