How’d we get him, at this stage, for a mere pittance? Concussions concerns? Worth the risk, he put in a full season last year. Hometown discount? Khan gets decent players for little $$$.

Penn state reunion with JPJ, and a hometown reunion.

    Go State, Go Steelers!

He looks like a solid Safety, really good in the box and as a pass rusher..

    I like it a lot.

He's a very versatile safety. He can play in any scheme. He can play both safety positions. He's a good tackler. He has a history of making big plays in big moments of games. I think he will fit in with whatever Graham decides to do with him.

The contract is very affordable. Brisker has had some concussion issues. That is probably why they didn't sign him to a multi-year deal. When healthy, he is a very good player.

Filling spots so we can hopefully have plenty of flexibility to do anything they want in the first. Trade up or down or be happy to with what falls to us. I hate when I feel like they reach over better players to get a need in round 1. That rarely works.

For the speculated $11 million per or whatever the pre free agency talk was; I wouldn’t have liked it. For basically nothing? Heck yeah.

I also misread the thread title and thought we were all somehow getting brisket.

oddly, I found that more exciting than any FA signing.

Very good find indeed. Should he prove himself in 2026, that sets him up with a pretty damn good payday coming in 2027. Ramsey could be out by then as well though have to wait for that to develop.

As for how this affects the draft?! I still see the Steelers selecting a Safety but unless Caleb Downs is within striking distance, I severely doubt that the team will spend one on a first round pick unless all options are exhausted by then.

CB room looks great, S room looks better with this signing. Will have to see how deep safeties are in the draft. I bet they take one. I wouldn’t hate it if they took Caleb Downs from Ohio State, but he probably won’t drop that far.

I still see them drafting a true free safety and another cornerback. I have no idea at what point of the draft. It all depends on who is available when they pick and how the draft picks fall. If they can find a third quality corner and an athletic safety that can really run and cover sideline to sideline as a single high, they will be in really good shape in the secondary. There is so much unknown with how they feel about Ramsey. Will they bring him back or will they cut him to get cap space? Is Elliot going to be able to return to his previous form coming back from injury?

If they draft well, some of those veterans can be mentors and it creates quality depth pieces that can get more playing time as the season goes on.

Nailing this draft can really set them up well for an extended period of time and they have enough draft picks to address most areas of need.

Truly good signing and fits the traditional Steelers FA signing with a young player looking for a second contract. Bears had an embarrassment of safeties with Byard, Brisker, and Gardner-Johnson and just signed Seahawk Coby Bryant to a three year deal.

[EDIT: I see they lost CJGJ to the Bills in FA]

Interesting point on Ramsey. Is he ripe for a trade this year? Safety class is actually very good this year, so yea I see a safety on their board, but keeping Ramsey as a mentor. Next year a different story.

Yeah thats the snark I am seeing from Bears fans, “good luck getting him on the field” things like that. He has two concussions but dont know what else is in his injury history. Hopefully just Bears fans talking ****.

I thought he had three, but last year was his first fully healthy season.

We did re-sign Holcomb. Maybe he is truly and fully back?
