I have been watching this season and so far and I can honestly say this dude is wasting a roster spot. has done absolutely nothing. I mean you just touch him and he falls down and if he fields a punt he runs sideways, Put Johnson back there at least he will run upfield.

Yeah, I'm not sure why Switzer is still holding down a roster spot. I don't think he's played an offensive snap since week 2 and he's shown nothing on returns. He seems to be a well liked guy on the team, but we can't keep wasting a helmet on him.

Eli Rogers still isn't on an NFL roster. Is it possible we are overrating him?

I think the team would be better off with Rogers than Switzer at this point, but I'm not sure how much of an impact the switch would have.

I do agree but is Switzer better than Moncrief? IMO Moncreif is the person taking up a roster spot. Keep Switzer at lest he will help the passing game and offer some kind of special teams help unlike Moncreif. I would like to see more of Johnson and less of Switzer as well on ST

Starting to wonder about his value also. He seems fairly sure handed fielding punts. My only worry would be who would replace him on returns. Just one untimely fumble when returning a punt or kick off can change the outcome of a game.

Switzer should be working at a car dealership or something. No reason for him to be on a football field. Dude is useless

As mentioned above, his sure hands must be what's keeping him on the roster. If they don't trust a guy enough to field a punt at the 10 yard line, why do they trust him to field one at the 35 yard line?

I see a couple people mentioning Switzer's sure hands, but didn't he drop a punt earlier this year? Pretty sure we retained possession, but still.... He dropped it.

Easy on the car dealership stuff. I run one. LOL. But hell I think I'd be more productive at WR than Switzer. hahaha

Todd Haley once said Rogers was the best slot receiver he has ever coached and of all the thing's Haley ever said that is the one that most fans cling to. To read the comments on him you'd think they gave up the franchise when they cut him.

Yeah, I've been wondering why they're keeping him around. While he does catch most of his passes, he never contributes to actually moving the ball downfield. He just catches and then goes down. And I haven't been impressed with his returns, either.

It's just a coincidence that Haley and the best slot receiver he ever coached are both currently out of the NFL.

He got a good chuckle out it.

Switzer seems to be the guy they put out there on punt returns when they want to be safe and don't expect a return anyway. Someone asked and he did drop one but it was very controlled and wasn't really even close to being lost. So in answer to what value or role Switzer has, that seems to be it. He's a very sure handed guy who can catch punts. That's pretty much it. Doesn't seem like much to continue to earn him a spot. Maybe they don't want to put any more on Johnson right now since he's becoming a pretty important part of the offense.

Once Ben was injured, Switzers involvement stopped.

Don't know why people are still fretting over Switzer. To put things in perspective:

James Washington - 2nd Rd Pick
    4 - Games
    13 - Targets
    6 - Receptions
    88 - Yards
    1 drop
    0 TD's

    Donte Moncrief - FA signing
    3 - Games
    11 - Targets
    3 - Receptions
    7 - Yards
    3 - Drops
    0 - TD's

Johnny Holton - Cost us Skipper
    4 - Games
    3 - Targets
    0 - Receptions
    0 - Yards
    0 - TD's
    1 - Drop

    Ryan Switzer
    2 - Games
    9 - Targets
    7 - Receptions
    29 - Yards
    0 - TD's
    0 - Drops

Seems peoples attention should be on one of those other guys. Switzer would be outproducing them all if not for Ben going down.

Well at least you get to play with all the cool new auto features (or used ones) - while he has to smell horrid elephant breath all day long.
