Steelers ain't gonna do squat vs. the Patriots. If Steelers ever beat the Patriots in the playoffs while Brady and Roethlisberger are still starting QBs for each team.... I will gladly eat crow. It's not gonna happen for the Steelers.

Right now... Kordell Stewart has been better vs. the Patriots in the playoffs with a 1-1 record. What is Ben's record? 0-2? Good ole January of 1998... the last time the Steelers beat the Patriots (with Bledsoe at QB) in the playoffs. Think about that for a second. About 2 decades of no playoff victories vs. the Patriots.

Hell.. the Broncos have pretty much owned the Steelers in the playoffs, too, since January of '06... last time Steelers beat them.

I got clowned last year when I told people to root for other Teams to beat the Pats as that would be our only way to make it to the big dance ...The same thing applies this year as what they do best is what we do the worse ...

Brady can't wait to play a zone blitz D with a soft zone ..He knows our D can't match up so all he needs to do is make the right read and he wins ...If you can't make a QB at least think about a throw he will throw darts all day and all night ...

Exactly. We simply don't have the personnel to match up with the Patriots... and still don't. I'm not sold on Burns, Cockrell, Mitchell and Davis. Those guys are fine vs. Ravens and Bengals, but are pretty much toast vs. Brady and Patriots. Plus... those guys are slow midgets compared to Seattle's secondary with Richardson, Chancellor, etc.

Exactly..I will also add our Safeties are of the wrong breed against the Pats as well...We need ball first guys not hit first guys ...Hit first guys don't concern the QB as he is not the one being hit....Ball first guys concern him greatly as if the ball is tipped, batted down, or picked off ,his team mates, the media, the coach's and the fans are on the QB asking why did he even try to make that throw? This helps create doubt...Doubt creates lack of confidence...And lack of confidence will take the edge off those darts ..They might start wobbling a bit....

    As a D that's what you want......

Looks like Gronkowski was too busy boozing it up to be worried about it, he had a 100K bar tab over the weekend:

Rob Gronkowski and crew reportedly tally $100k bar tab at casino
    Sportsnaut | Jun 19

Never let it be said Rob Gronkowski doesn’t know how to party. The Summer of Gronk is an annual event, and this year it reportedly involved racking up a $100,000 bar tab at a casino in Connecticut over the weekend.

According to TMZ Sports, Gronkowski and his 20-man entourage went through an incredible amount of booze.

“In total, Gronk’s gang tore through 160 BOTTLES OF CHAMPAGNE including … “18 bottles of Ace of Spades Rose: $18,000 … 15 bottles of Dom Perignon Rose: $27,000 … 16 bottles of Grey Goose for $10,400, 45 orders of Maker’s Mark, 24 shots of Jim Beam Fire, 3 bottles of Don Julio 1942.”

His wasn't a message to the Patriots. It was a message to the Steelers.

Yep. Don't know what list of changes need to be made, but they'd (both players and coaches) better pull a rabbit out of a hat or something as the team's SB chances window may be closing for the near future. I don't think Ben is motivated and content playing 2nd fiddle to the Patriots anymore...hopefully that's the case anyway

I don't know if Ben was serious about retiring or just really frustrated after the loss. I was inclined to think the latter. I also didn't think he seemed as inspired last year. Based on the article by AB apparently he is in the right mind set now. That has to be a good thing, and others will feed off of him.

Before you talk about dethrone, first we got to compete on the line of scrimmage. Last time I checked we are too scared to play on the line of scrimmage ...Patriots own us

Just as Ben says, we are little Brothers to the Pats. It's hard for me to fathom, one of the most intimidating
franchise's in history and we are known as little brothers to them by are FRANCHISE QB? Unbelieveible Thanks MT.

Yep, its silly. Sports is littered with examples of teams that had to get over the hump by finally beating an antagonist.

NE is that team to the Steelers. Thats all Ben was saying.

And we will not beat them as long as they have Bill and Brady and we have KC ....To be the man you have to beat the man..We don't have the DB'S to stop them, they play with us like toy's ...They have hundreds of game scripts that they can dial up and march right down the field ...They only turn up the O against us when they need to and when they do we offer little resistance...

Giants beat them with their front, no shut down corners. Thats the recipe to playing Brady. Whether we can do that or not, remains to be seen.

Wouldn't take much to knock the spirit out of him in retrospect. He's the boss surrounded by a couple of doobie brothers and a media whore. Him and James are the patriarchs to a handful of dummy's not putting the team first. That said, I think there was some egg on the face of a few folks looking to wipe the slate clean and cannot wait for what this season could produce!

    Go Steelers!

Seems as if this whole "New Era" thinking of building the backend over the front seven has intoxicated the minds of American Gridiron Football fans worldwide.

Just because teams like the Broncos or Seahawks have great defensive backs does not mean one should start there.

In fact, take away Micheal Bennent and Von Miller from both teams. Who is getting consistent pressure from each team now?

A better front seven is always a welcome sight to me.

Pressure yields turnovers. Always has. Always will.

    This is a universal truth.
