Looks like the steelers are going to need a swing tackle.

Hmm... wish him all the best.

Maybe that meeting with Roderick Johnson from Florida State was more than just due diligence it appears.

Interesting. I think he was going to get cut anyway. Wish him the best.

His remaining salary I think was 3.9 mil. I haven't had time to dig into it but he should give us some cap relief..... Ease the pain of making Bell the leagues highest paid RB.

Does anybody know how his retirement affects the Steelers cap?

It looks like 1.9 mil cap savings and possibly another 337k in recouping bonus money IF the Steelers so decide to go after ...

Appreciate the depth, but that move doesn't even move the draft needle for me. They have plenty of depth at OT, they need to look at a C/G prospect to go along with the stud Finney. Love that dude.

    From SB Nation:

After 10 years in the NFL, and only one with the black and gold, Harris is calling it a career. Once Harris officially files his retirement paperwork, it will save the Steelers roughly $2 million dollars on their salary cap.

The team will be looking to take care of left tackle Alejandro Villanueva this offseason, has Hubbard as a backup and will hope Jerald Hawkins, the team’s 4th round draft pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, will be able to be a swing tackle to help solidify the tackle position this season.

I doubt they do. I would actually be disappointed if they did.
