You should have just stopped at... in your mind. All HCs have a say in the game plan. All of them, but You can clearly see who is calling the plays on the sidelines, and it's not Tomlin.

He can be loyal to a fault and hang on to long at times. Canada is the only one I can say was pretty much terrible.

Was Mitchell left from Lebeau's staff?

Thats more or less been their business model, promoting from within.

Cowher was the one that hired him, he actually falls under Cowhers tree.

Correct. Was the Colts OC. Had he gone from the Steelers into a HC job, that would be different.

Actually he fail under neither tree, but in interviews I've heard Him mention Tomlin in helping him forward, and other coaches, but I've yet heard him mention Cowher. Also Cowher didn't always promote within, and definitely not a wrs coach. It doesn't matter, because He didn't become a HC after leaving Pittsburgh. It was after Indy.

Why doesn’t he fall under Cowhers tree? I always thought it was the coaches who hired them.

All this coaching tree talk is kind of overrated look at Belichick's tree, all failures except Bill O'Brien.
