Then why did they offer him a contract and never considered Wilson?

And maybe if they gave him the rest of the season he could have improved on that instead of wasting time with an old washed QB whom by the way is phony AF apparently. Teammates get sick of his act real quick.

    :beathorse:

Teammates only got sick of him when the team started losing, Fileds wasn't going to improve much because the schedule got a lot tougher.

No, it’s his fake positivity. Rubs people the wrong way after a while. Take a look at Cams face after a loss, Russ is up in his face “hey, lets go win the next four, look at me, lets go win the next 4” Could tell Cam was like get the **** away from me.

    Denver teammates couldnt stand him.

I was on a baseball team that went 0-13 for the season. And yet, the 'star pitcher' (coach's son) would try to amp everyone up with his rose-colored glasses. I can understand it at first, but after about the 10th loss it's nothing but an annoyance.

I still prefer Wilson over Rodgers and think they should've brought him back to play with Metcalf and Pickens.

Benching Fields was just another stupid decision in the string of stupid decisions made after Ben's elbow got injured when it comes to finding a new QB.

There doesn't seem to be an end to it either.

Wait until we draft Milroe in the first. Then we will reach the Mt. Everest of stupidity.

Glad they walked away from him. All he can do is heave it and once defenses took that away he looked awful. Having a legit #2 would help but not enough.

it would be good if there was an actual peak, but they keep reaching higher and finding new summit to reach.

Remind me about this Edmunds vs. Leonard thing again…. I don’t think I’ve heard about it (at least not in the last week or two…)

I wonder why he decided to do that? I thought Wilson was doing pretty good.

As I recall, the occasional fracas that breaks out over whether or not Darius Leonard was graded high enough to have been considered by the Steelers in the first round of 2018. General consensus is that Edmunds was a significant reach, but disagreements break out over who was legitimately in the conversation at #27.

The board's former scribe has maintained Leonard should have been the pick, while others have argued he would've been considered a reach at the time as well, despite his successful four-year run after the Colts took him in the second.

You dont know at what point he begun pulling the reigns back if that is even true. Maybe he took away the ability to call plays after the slide began.

I don't know why Smith wanted to run the ball more the run game wasn't producing much. He should've let Russ cook :hehehe:.

Makes more sense he pulled the reigns back when Wilson started sucking. No coach is going to say that too much scoring for me, let’s take away your ability to call plays.

Yeah, Smith wanted to run more of those zone toss plays that never seemed to work .
