I'm sorry it upsets you so much to have me prove that the information in your previous post was false. You claimed that they were "getting beat" when Pickett left that game. That is not true. The game was tied. Now you want to move the goalposts to talk about the low score, which is why I pointed out that Cole ruined two drives with terrible snaps on third down.

    This.
I honestly believe next to Qbs they are the hardest to judge on how well they will translate from the college games into the NFL.

Just a thought on the QB situation. How are the Steelers going to get a QB that can really challenge Kenny for the number 1 spot. Over and over the steelers' management makes comments like this about Kenny. There is absolutely no doubt that Kenny is the starter next year. Rudolph knows this and every single QB out there knows this as well. There will be no real competition at the position. Kenny is the guy they are going to go with.

If I were Rudolph I would go elsewhere with no question. So forget about a real competition at QB. It's not going to happen

Did he get any offers last year when he was a FA? The Steelers let their players explore FA,
then if they want to match the offer the player gets from another team if they feel the player
works for them they will try signing the player. MR may not want to come back to the Steelers. I believe FA starts March 13th, will see what happens then. I am sure his agent is looking for the best opportunity for MR.

Don't read too much into it either way. Half of what He said ....he has to say, a quarter of that is smokescreen, and the rest since KFP is the only Qb under contract...what do you expect him to say???

I get that. But at the same time he is doubling down on Kenny as the starter. It is obvious he wants Kenny to be the starter. I'm not sure what kind of offers Rudolph will get but he was our best QB last year. And if he's goes then we have 1 QB under contract. I'm sure there will be bodies out there to pick up but if he leaves we are going to be extremely thin at QB

He is likely to be cut next week. I also think the Steelers would be able to get him cheap due to how much bronchi will be paying him. And he might be looking for a team to get a ring in the next two years.

If he comes cheap, he's really our best option.

I would try to play hardball with Wilson and make him come to work everyday to collect his money. I know his salary and roster bonus money are guaranteed, but I would assume he would have to come in to work to collect it.

Also, couldn't they start fining the living daylights out of him when the practices he is not showing up for were not Optional?

If he becomes a problem at practice, then "Hey Russell you are going to come in everyday, and go to the office in the basement and sit there every day for the next 2 years." :)

People keep saying this about what happened last year to Mason, but last year when Mason was out there looking for a job he didn't have the fact that he was the NFL's highest rated QB for the last 4 weeks of the season on his resume either. Things have changed for Mason this offseason!

I think there will be a team out there with Cap space that is willing to roll the dice with a 3 year $33 million contract to have Mason come in and compete for the starting job.

And now he has 4 good games in 6 years on his resume

    Yep that is impressive

GMs will ignore that and focus heavily on the 4 games at the end of the season

You meaning Denver? Denver is screwed regardless if they keep him or cut him. If they cut him, I think they might save 5 million and they can split it this year and next.

He can't be judged from games He didn't play.
Yet people are wanting us to trade away picks , and eventually big money for a Qb that has not that many big games. So

Yes I can judge him from games he didn’t play

That’s the whole point there was a reason he didn’t play

I am more in favor of bringing him back than any of the other options

You know that Ben was never going to be benched in favor of Mason. And then in their infinite wisdom the Steelers brought in Mitch and drafted Kenny and Mason became an afterthought until they had no other options this season. And as it turned out, that “afterthought” was the primary reason that the Steelers made the playoffs and Tomlin’s non-losing season streak remained intact. Are you really arguing that Mason couldn’t earn a snap when he was buried on the depth chart for two years behind two clearly inferior quarterbacks? Maybe he earned an opportunity every single day but this coaching staff was too stupid to see it. Sorta looks that way, don’t it?

Even Fittipaldo said the opinion of Rudolph is much higher in the Steelers bumble than around the rest of the league.

When you look at the 4 games in context, it’s doubtful he moved the needle much at all. FFS he didn’t even have a game throwing for over 300 yards against some pretty poor defenses and people think GM’s will be eager to throw a lot of money at this guy.

I think he made 3 million this season, he might see a raise to 5 million if he signs elsewhere.
