ahh - ok, so that is how the situation is.

seems like everyone is assuming this is how it will play out......

still asking us all, if this is how it pans out:

Russell at league vet minimum or Kenny.

    anyone, Bueller, anyone?

Wilson isn't even liked by his own teammates, in Seattle or Denver. Pass. Hard no.

Poor run blocking grades, Pgh not a fit for Guyton.

Betting odds now at -250 for the Steelers to land Wilson. Big change from -110 to -250 last night.

The line for the Steelers to land Wilson opened at +1400

Damn Chad Johnson opens his mouth and people start losing their minds.

Wilson got the money from Denver and stopped cooking. I'd like to have Wilson or any number of veteran QBs as a backup option for KP.

The understanding would be that those QBs need to take significantly less money up front with an incentive structured deal.

Denver has nothing behind Wilson, so Kenny Pickett may be part of the package to bring in Wilson. This would give Denver a starting QB on a rookie deal for the next 2 years while they eat all of Wilson's dead money Pittsburgh would force them to take on.

Any trade for Wilson will definitely include the Steelers taking on some of Wilson's 2024 and 2025 salary. Will Wilson be willing to restructure? Do a new contract? At what cost to the Steelers? The price will be to high to pay for a 35 to 36 year old QB who's best years are probably behind him.

The Steelers are better off keeping and developing KP to find his ceiling and bring in a vet who knows his role.

I don't see the Steelers trading for Wilson.

they don't need to trade for him, from what I heard and am reading.

I guess we will all see soon enough where Wilson 'lands'

He is a better option than Kenny in most instances

But if he is cut it will be somewhat of a bidding war for the Steelers

It’s not like they will be his sole option

Yeah Wilson isn't what he was 5 years ago but last year he threw for over 3,000 yards and had 26 TD's and 8 picks. The Steelers would be ecstatic if KP put up those numbers this year.

The steelers need to consider it if this is true

If they don’t cut him by March 17, they owe him $37 million for the 2025 season.

That is 3 weeks from today

I would wager if he gets cut by the Broncos, he will not last on waivers. He had a very good season in 2023.

    Broncos probably wouldn’t waive him

And I doubt any team would claim him on waivers with his contract

If anything he will be cut and a FA

Speculation about Wilson to Steelers was first thing Cowherd talked about today on his show. Cowherd says Steelers are a playoff team with Wilson and miss the playoffs with Pickett.

This is the part that worries me, but You don't have to be liked to work together

Although remember...Cowher has picked us last in the Division for about 5 years straight now, and everytime we're not ....he has an excuse why.

I think he is accurate - we miss with Pickett, probably would have missed this pass year (AZ was beating us when he got hurt and his first half sucked again) And we get there and maybe - GET THIS - maybe WIN a playoff game, with Wilson!!! Kenny's great 3 and out stats, World Renowned!

They were tied when Pickett was injured in the Arizona game. This was after Cole scuttled two drives with terrible shotgun snaps on third downs. The Steelers fell apart after he was hurt. It would help your arguments if you used accurate facts.

You mean Cowherd, not Cowher. Cowher picks us to win the AFC North every year. :lolol:

Here is the Cowherd clip. I don’t know. I just really don’t want to piss away a first rd pick without knowing for sure Pickett isn’t the guy.

Such a terrible call staying with Canada. They’d have a much better idea by now about Pickett.

At the same time if Wilson could lead them to a SB then what does it matter. That’s a big “IF” though.
