I don't like how the Steelers organization is all in on short term thinking now.

If Tomlin were in charge of roster moves, this would reek of someone just trying to secure an extension with one good year. But Kahn seems all in on it too.

I don't think he will play well here. Arthur Smith and Wilson are polar opposites schematically. If he does though, he's gone next year. And we still don't have an answer on Pickett. Pretty much SB or bust next year.

Well being that Kirk Cousins just got $180 million from Falcons and a $50 million bonus

I really like Wilson on the 1.2 million 1 year deal....

Can say the same about you after this post. You have a different opinion, how effing arrogant of you to think yours is so superior as to call others retarded.

This is not Wilson of 10 years ago or even 5 years ago, this is a guy that many people and former players with extensive knowledge of the game that say he is a bad QB.

He signed for 1.2 million, the Steelers have no obligation to start this guy if they don’t feel like it.

You have the GM blaming the former OC for Picketts struggles

You have multiple people in the industry saying Wilson needs to compete for the job.

Pickett was a 1st rd pick that was saddled with a horrible OC, they did not put him in a position to succeed they put him in a position to fail and would make sense they want to see if he can turn it around with a better OC. At least for several games before making the switch to Wilson.

There are numerous logical reasons why they still could end up starting Pickett. Holy **** you’d think they just signed Mahomes. You people sound more panicked than sure that Pickett won’t start.

I mean what the hell, he cost nothing and we've got next to nothing in the QB room, and it's only 1 year, there's much more potential upside than down side here. Does RW inspire me with any confidence at this point?

    Nope.

They kinda had to bring in a vet, with only KP under contract, it was just a case of who and on a 1 year deal for no financial commitment it looks the smartest grab of the scrap heap QB's out there.

Well, the Falcon's 35 year old qb cost 150X what the Steelers 35 year old qb costs, so there's that.

Well, that's what people said about the extension Trub was given last season: it's a deal for the Steelers. All that ended up happening was Trub sucking it up and costing Steelers games.

Here's hoping Wilson doesn't suck it up as much Trub.

At 2:30 I think this is a good deal. The price is right. We give up nothing. Let's go... I would make this deal as well.

I like the Wilson signing if for no other reason it means no Justin Fields.

The fact the Broncos are willing to take a huge cap hit to be rid of him doesn’t bode well though.

1.2 million is really nothing though, so no commitment on our part.

it can, but unlikely. the bigger problem is how long it takes to be back to 100% full strength and ROM

IF he succeeds here (wins a Playoff Game or dare I say 2 or 3!), then he gets the FT next year and wins this City over

If they are giving up on Pickett I would much rather have Fields, at least that could have been a long term solution.

With Wilson they are trying to catch lightening in a bottle. Maybe it works out, I’m not confident. He was terrible his last year in Seattle, terrible his first year in Denver and fell way short of his 242 million dollar contract overall.

Giving up on Pickett in just 2 seasons after saddling him with a pop warner OC reeks of a Browns move.

I wanted Fields - I guess we will have to see what Fields goes for. and if he develops one day into a Top 10 QB.

and THEN - we will have the SEASON to measure the effectiveness of all decisions

giving up on Pickett reeks of fishing or cutting bait - and they CUT BAIT. he will wash out of the league soon enough and no one will remember his name by 2026.

it will be all right everyone.......

That very well may be. My issue is giving up on a 1st rd pick without being sure after the situation they put him in. I wouldn’t be complaining if they had a real OC his first two years and they decided to move on.
