Exactly, They may have been interested in Kirk or Baker, the money itself was not that bad for what they signed for, Kirk more iffy coming off injury and age, but they both made a choice best for them (whatever the reason). Minshew would have been to only other realistic option, if you had a young guy in development then the most likely option. In some ways I would have liked to keep Mason, but again he needed to get out of here, and we needed to clear the room. It's Fields and/or Russ to prove they have something to invest in, IDK the exact %, but I would guess it's not high on aging QB's changing teams and being highly productive (Montana comes to mind as successful in KC, Plunkett in Oakland). Younger guys turning it around may be more prevalent, so the risk/reward is there on the cheap.

 

Exactly how is getting injured a distraction

What else has he done here to be a distraction other than being polite and team first

 

Not high on Fields but lets see what his 4 yr will be like. If no, draft a qb, there will be some good ones coming out next season.
Doing a good job beefing up offensive line with the last 2 drafts. Maybe time to get our next franchise qb!

my HOPE was in a final year or two of a healthy and focused Wilson, but I don't think we will be able to witness that.

Fields with 4 years in the league is > than a ROOKIE next year.

I was all on board when they took in Wilson. He is a dud. And a distraction. Hope Fields plays very good to great. Keep Wilson out of the mix.
