We need two more receivers. George Pickens is not gonna take us to the promised land. If we had George Pickens and Cooper Kupp or someone like him and then a good third receiver along with Freiermuth and Najee and Jalen in the backfield. I think we do pretty good.

I’m not sure any of the highly paid defenders that we have are worth a whole lot in terms of draft capital tbh. They would want a new contract anywhere they go so the acquiring team won’t want to also give up significant draft picks.

It would free up cap space down the road I suppose, but cap space isn’t going to be a big inhibitor of team development in the medium term as things stand.

My own view is that they need to fix the trenches and continue to draft good players each offseason. Get another corner and receiver if you can, and take the swing on a QB when one is in reach

trouble is adding a kupp and re-signing pickens is going to cost a lot. we have no QB's at the end of the season and they won't come cheap. the best bet is to let najee walk, sign warren and add through the draft to that spot. friermuth needs to provide more on the field as a blocker. so far he hasn't. trying to keep the defense stocked is expensive as well. minkah, cam, watt, highsmith, queen, jackson, ogunjobi are expensive. the offensive line will need added to. they are just not good enough as of now. we will lose moore and i haven't seen enough of jones to say he will get better if moved to the left. i doubt it's going to be much better if he does. troy has to be able to stay on the field, and so far i don't see any evidence of that. some tough decisions will be coming next year. i don't see a kupp type signing being beneficial until we address some of these other things first.

Hell.... trade Pickens next year and break the bank for Cooper Kupp and Tee Higgins.

Kupp looks done unless he is nursing an injury they haven’t disclosed.

Then try to lure Davante Adams from Jets to go with Tee Higgins. That would be a better WR corps than we have now. Higgins, Adams and Austin.

Steelers should also look in free agency for OL and interior DL help.

higgins is out as much as he's in. been that way for several years. he has a lot of lower leg tissue injuries that come out of nowhere.

i do want to see more from Skowronek. he may be a keeper. gunner plus. hopefully roman wilson takes a step. hit the draft again with a big fast guy. austin is a keeper as a receiver and a returner. easily any of these guys could be 3-4-5 receivers that a team needs.

If they don't plan on keeping George, I wonder if they'd try to trade him for maybe a 2nd?

Then draft one high, sign a FA or two, and hope Roman Wilson does something.

Happy to move on from Pickens tbh, I've seen enough, he's not going to change, but that's does nothing to help our WR roon, with a weakish WR draft coming up as well.

Doesn't matter who the Quarterback is as long as Tomlin is running the show, they will fail when it matters.

I'm waiting to see how Wilson does in these next 2 games. If the Steelers beat the Bengals, beat the Texans in a playoff game and play a competitive game against the Chiefs in the next round, then I think 3 years for 90 million would be reasonable. But if we lose to the Bengals and then get blown out by the Ravens in the playoffs, that would make him 6-6 as the Steelers starter. I would rather go with Fields next year who was 4-2 as a starter, would be cheaper and 10 years younger than Wilson.
